Did you try different settings in games? Changing the resolution or changing the graphics? Some games would have probably run better if you tweaked stuff.

I played all games at the lowest settings and switching between 1080 and 720p resolutions.

I'd suggest to run some of games in Windows version using Proton. It gives much better performance in many cases. Saints Row series is a great example, the Linux port is gigantically sucks while Windows via Proton is very enjoyable.

Postal 2 ran pretty good, but the aspect ratio made the screen freak out. Jazzpunk just ran good. The worst thing about steam on a chromebook is that the games run in windowed mode, and the mouse cursor can get to the edge of the screen.

Check out the protondb.com to see if the game is compatible with Linux. It doesn't guarantee it will work on a Chromebook, but there's a good chance it will.

Certainly yes, if you did manage to install Proton-GE and run the game inside of it. Not pretty much sure if Origin will still work since my last test of it shows that the launcher is not capable of logging in, that means you may need a pirated version of the game.

It all depends on you Chromebook. Everyone of them will have a different experience. The best I can say is to install steam and try out any games you own.

That's not possible. You will have to contact your school to see if they give you permission for Linux access.

If you can do that, I'd still suggest not to do it. It may go against the rules and you may lose access of the Chromebook. Paying for some of cheap used gaming PC is much better deal with full compatibility.

Since all chromebooks will perform differently you'll just have to test it out for yourself and see how it goes. Unless you have an ARM chromebook. Those will not work at all.

Surely not, Vanguard, an Anti-Cheat measure, uses a lot of specific kernel-based op-code, and Proton, a layer of Windows translation for Linux, simply does not have it.

Even though if you managed to install Apex Legends on it, it will still not go any further than the menu since Windows version of EAC does not work on Proton.
