a 6,5 can be 90% if your customer filter is good. The storepage will give an expectation of how good or bad this game is. If it shows a mediocre game, most people will not buy and the negatives are filtered out this way. Those who like it enough will buy and if the expectation set is met, they can walk away with a positive review. a 6,5 can also be a 0% or a 100%, the % shows how many people felt their expectation of the game was met. Those who wouldn't like the game didn't buy it if the store page is showing an honest representation of the game. Effectively, the % doesn't show how good a game is, but how accurate the sales pitch on the store page is.

You can only vote if you buy a game. If you bought a game chances are it's because you were interested in it so almost all games will have high ratings. A 65 on metacritic is abysmal considering 75 is the median.

Even if I love a game I might be too busy enjoying it to remember to review it.

If 9/10 people like a game that's a good game whether they like it a little or a lot that tells you a lot because the chances of that many people liking it are low. Even if only the extremes review that's still really useful information I don't see the problem with this.

This guy isn't telling us anything we don't already know. It's a things up or down system. No different to rotten tomatoes really. Sure there are people who don't know or even think about it, but it's not really that interesting. Critics aren't ourt of touch, they just play a lot more than most people, so their basis for reviewing is a lot lower or they use arbitrary systems that compile a total score. But generally I'd say it's a subjective opinion and so would be different from the lamen who plays less games per year than reviewers do. That's why cinema is also the same.

BS. Critics are _completely_ biased because they literally get paid.

@PHeMoX by whom? How often have we ever seen evidence of that? Unless you mean through ads. Which sure, but then why are KZbinrs more trustworthy? They also get paid. Same old nonsense.

i never trust or use any review system any score i see is made up of npcs idc, 6/10 movie? boom hidden gem? 9/10 movie? its somehow trash its only rated so high due to past reputation , same thing goes for games, same thing goes for anime. but espicially for games most ppl who play games have 2 braincells and have no clue what makes a game fun or why they are enjoying, go ask like 10 people what their favorite game is... then make them tell u why they love it half or more will struggle to tell u 5 decent points they will be like... " i like the graphics... its relaxing..." like they wont explain how its relaxing they wont tell u about this mechanic or combat system or skill tree etc they will tell u random subjective things that they dont understand. 49% of all people on earth have below average intelligence so keep that in mind whenever u talk to anyone

That's a lot of words from someone, who don't know what an average is.

"49% of all people on earth have below average intelligence" That's not how the average works. If anything, it shows that you are not as smart as you think you are. If 99 people have an IQ of 120, and Cakez has an IQ of 77, the average IQ would be 119. Cakez would be the only one below the average.
