I tried Steam's recording yesterday on my pc and I think it does really well, it was better than I thought it was and I think it will only get better. As someone who helps edit your videos and who also makes their own, it's a really helpful tool. I like that I can use it instead of loading a whole other software to record gameplay. The only thing I need is a better mic settings. Other than that I like it a lot!

I recorded several one hour long videos. They were up to 5gb. But I couldn't export them. It said 100mb maximum. This was on Steamdeck. I tried going to the files and they were cut into dozens of m4s files. ...is there something I'm missing?

I think there are some limits right now while it's in Beta. Hopefully they figure it all out soon

@AuthorJakeStrife You have to download them I believe and then it will download into a video file. If you also have the desktop app in Beta version, you can go into Steam >> View >> (New) Recordings & Screenshots I'm not sure if it's the same on Steam Deck since I haven't tried it out on the deck yet, but maybe try following those steps there too. Hope this helps!

Doesn't work with all games I think, I tried with Sputnika for a first trial and the final video was only a splash screen, also when I returned to standard mode from Beta I had trouble , the system wanted me to sign back in and it would not accept my credentials, I did a second restart and all was okay but I got scared there for a moment

Hopefully they fix it soon. Maybe it won’t record some cut scenes due to codex support? I know that’s why some older games’ cutscenes are blank.
