Most of the time you will need to either have somebody cast them for you and machine them, or hope somebody with the same engine has done this already, and has either spare castings or is willing to cast them again for you.

That eccentric casting was a failed casting, too porous to be made into a finished part, though a lot of times the porous parts will simply have the holes filled with body putty, then get machined, or at least smoothed down, and then painted over to hide this. Here it is visible, so rather just make a new one when the next pattern goes into the sand, and join it up with the rest of the casting run. Watch Doubleboost to see how John does his own brass and aluminium casting at home, funny enough also a lot of times for another older British made steam tractor, that he helps to maintain and repair.
