She didn't forget. All the delays due to everyone umm-ing and ah-ing, forgetting their lines and checking their scripts (including her) caused her to pass out from extra smoke inhalation.

Plus, usually these lines are voiced over using a dedicated mic station elsewhere on set, in a more comfortable setting, with a stand to rest the script. She probably fell asleep and just guessed the line before finding it on the sheet.

I love how Skinner's actor is way more relaxed about the exact reading of lines, while Chalmers sticks to the script and glares at him whenever he says the wrong line. Very accurate to their personalities

The edits made to the eyes, the Skinner/Chalmers cams, the bits that seem to be improv and the forgotten actions (e.g. the doorbell), the other little changes besides the dialogue, all of it comes together for one of the best iterations of Seen Hams I've ever Steam- uhh, Steamed Hams I've ever seen!

I feel a lot of the timing here wasn't quite as good as it could be in what specific words they need to check, but that Utica line flub was just Chef's Kiss. He messed up Chalmers' line in response and Chalmers' was clearly confused as to which of them made the mistake XD

fun fact: the Aurora Borealis exchange was completely ad libed, that's why Superintendent Chalmers was so confused. The writers loved it so much they kept it in.

I love this take on this so much, it's so real 😂 I love them accidentally reading ahead and then fumbling lines, I love Chalmers just pointing to the script that describes them as grilled rather than pointing to the burgers, I love the annotation scene. And I love them constantly dropping the script, or pausing to look at it. All the tiny details make it feel all the more realistic lol, I know you were a theater kid for this one.
