Steamer vs Pressure Cooker

I have used a steamer with success with pint jars. I also have an electric water kettle. If the water in the steamer would get too low, I would pour in a little boiling water from the electric kettle to maintain the proper level (and I was careful not to pour it on the jars).

The kettle is a great idea because the problem with the Steamer Pots is that they lose water with time. 😎👍🏼

Great video... next Wednesday/week I'm going to purchase the 8qt instant pot from Wal-Mart. They have them on sale for $109. I believe Amazon had them for $145..

If you're not opposed to shopping at thrift stores, I got a brand new Crock-Pot pressure cooker (exact clone of the instapot) for $10. No box, just the brand new unit and cord. I see them there at least once a week and we live in a smallish area.

@@KitchenMycology They end up in the thrift stores at the beginning of the year. My theory has been that people get them for Christmas and a lot of those people have irrational fears of pressure cookers cemented from generally overblown stories from the past. My mother will not allow me to bring my small pressure cooker to her house to make a meal. She's just that way.

Thank you! I use an old smartphone with a great camera. But I have an expensive Manfrotto Tripod. That's the trick! 😎👍🏼

@@greatwhitecoyote Oh, mine is an old one from when I was big into DSLR Photography. Any Tripod will do, but Manfrottos are super solid, heavy, and last forever. Mine is probably 15 years old! The cheapest Manfrotto model will be better than the most expensive cheap ones. I bet you can find a good used one on eBay too.
