😢😢😢 I miss! My childhood memories. My fave is Rustan’s Superstore (grocery and department store). I still remember the inside of the Rustan’s bldg. Every Saturday morning is our grocery day. Hay…. Those are really good memories. 😢

Been living abroad since 1998. Everytime I visit Cubao to reminisce, I find it really hard to connect my memories to what I'm seeing. Gone is the Araneta Center I used to know. Nakakalungkot isipin.

I remember when SM Cubao first opened across from Ali Mall. Ali Mall also had Print Diffusion for imported magazines, Musicland and On Target records, There was also a Skatetown on the 3rd floor to go roller skating.

FYI, the movie theaters in Cubao were as follows: Along Aurora Boulevard were Alta, Coronet, Remar, Diamond, Red, White, and Blue Cinemas, and Ocean Cinema. Within the Araneta Center were Cinema 21, Quezon, Sampaguita, Nation, and New Frontier Theater. There was also Grand Theater along EDSA toward NEPA Q-Mart. There were also ALI Mall Cinemas ...obviously, inside the mall.

The fiesta carnival was better before than today. But the Araneta center (City) today is better than before.

What you missed is Gaisano mall beside COD, along aurora blvrd shopping lane is greg shoes, mamonlok and oz pizza restaurant all these before jollibee cubao. Then there is rempson and uniwide shopping malls. Additional bookstore like goodwill, alemarz and mirriam and webster. Finally Queens super grocery store. And you missed cubao x.

Starbucks in Ali Mall used to be occupied by Gift Gate, which sold Sanrio and Swatch products. Skatetown, also in Ali Mall, was demolished in the 1990s and transformed into 5 cinemas, which were then turned into banks and government satellite offices in the 2000s.

Lets admit it, mas maganda na ang Araneta Center or City kumpara dati. I'm in my 50's, i enjoyed Skate Town in Ali Mall. Technology evolved and so as the New Generation.
