Micheal Starr is a nice dude. I met him. He was walking into the venue in Fargo. I said, "can I get a picture?" ...he says, "hold on, I'll be back in 30 seconds I have to grab my vape." Sure as shit, 30 seconds later he cones out...no vape. We do a picture of uq both throwing up the shocker. In front of the Fargo police station. It was poetic. Also, back the BLUE!

Saw them open for Priest in Las Vegas last month and they were terrific. True entertainers and total pros. These guys know what they're doing and they were way better than Judas Priest. Priest should be opening for Panther.
@Jessie452210 жыл бұрын
I don't agree completely with you...I saw them open for Judas Priest back in November..and it just got unbearable...Michael constantly stopping a song to say "SHOW ME YOUR TITS" "You're gonna grow up and be my groupie" got a little unprofessional imo.. they spent more time on what I would say a comedy bit...than actually playing music..it got to the point people were throwing drinks on them.. and they played 3 more songs, then got off stage...they weren't bad by any means..I don't mind the music, there's a few songs I really enjoy listening to from time to time...but doing that all the time...not professional imo.
@FrankGiannantonio10 жыл бұрын
That's what they do. It IS a comedy bit.
@Jessie452210 жыл бұрын
so because they would rather stand around and make jokes at each other...they should have judas priest open for them? I went to a concert..not dinner and a comedy bit..lol..I expected decent/ good music, then an amazing show from Judas Priest, instead I got lame jokes, a few songs, then an amazing show..lol
@FrankGiannantonio10 жыл бұрын
No, because they have more heart than Judas priest does. Priest sucks now. They aren't even a band anymore. They're out there faking it every night. Panther isn't. They may be a comedy act but they're not claiming to be anything else. If you thought Priest was amazing, you've never been to an amazing show and certainly have never seen Priest in their prime. Rob Halford using Autotune? Unacceptable.
@Jessie452210 жыл бұрын
How do they have more heart? Judas Priest has been making music probably longer than Steel Panther members have been alive..lol. and they're still going! Tell me that isn't heart... and Judas Priest doesn't "claim" to be anything.. And I'm 21.. of course I never saw Judas Priest 30+ years ago.. I saw Iron Maiden back in 2012 and that was better than Judas Priest IMO..but they were both fantastic shows! He didn't use auto tune...sorry to say..lol..he sang differently than the albums sounded..not by much..but he did..so it wasn't auto tuned.

I'm 20 and I completely disagree. You're looking at the past through rose-tinted glasses and fail to realize that there's always been shitty popular music, and there's always been good popular music. As if there weren't terrible child pop stars and shallow sex symbols 30 years ago? You try to sound like you have superior taste and know what "real music is all about", but you just come across as ignorant and far too dismissive of modern music simply because you're either (1) old and set in your ways, or (2) young and trying too hard to differentiate yourself from your peers.
@EmmaCarolinePowell10 жыл бұрын
Dan B 21 year old speaking here. And yes, there was crap years ago too, but I don't think it was ever as bad as it is now. I think there was enough good to counteract the bad 30 years ago, but there's so much shit clogging the system now it's hard for anyone good to get any publicity nowadays. I don't try to differentiate myself, it's just my taste :)

Great song. Great band. With Steel Panther, I feel like their lyrical content makes it hard for a lot of people to actually appreciate their musicianship, but every single one of those guys are incredibly talented. They always talk about how their goal is to bring the golden era of heavy metal back, and regardless of whether someone listens to their music out of disbelief or pure admiration, they are still exposing themselves to great rock 'n' roll music (in my humble opinion). I think they deserve more recognition, but at the end of the day it really doesn't matter; they're giving us a chance to either relive those glory days, or continuously imagine how awesome they must have been.
@madmichaelmathieu10 жыл бұрын
Wow, you expressed my thoughts almost verbatim. I couldn't agree more. This is a GREAT fucking band with amazing songs, great melodies/vocals, great guitar riffs (Satchel is a flawless player), and an awesome overall band that can really play anything perfect. I realize the naysayers are quick to jump on them for their silliness and the whole shtick involved, but after a decade or 2 of D-tuned, "my life sucks because my uncle raped me" whining, I welcome this whole-heartedly. I love everything they've done and will continue to support them all the way!! Great post Nathan...well said.

Mike Mathieu Thanks Mike, I really appreciate it and I completely agree with you. This is feel-good rock 'n' roll music ya know? It is hard not to be in a good mood when listening to Steel Panther, and I think that's awesome. The ability to create genuine "feel-good" music is something that may be somewhat of a lost art in bands nowadays, but Steel Panther delivers this with ease and I think that says a lot about the band and their music.
