Good comparison. I like flieger watches and field watches. I have several cheaper ones in A and B types and have a higher quality one of each as well. I have the Addiesdive Type A (purchased new) and a Steeldive Type B (purchased locally used) and for me, the Steeldive is definitely a notch nicer overall, in my opinion. I wear the Type A on a leather flieger type strap and the Steeldive on the stock bracelet. I just ordered the Murph type Steeldive and for me, at these fairly low price points, I feel the Steeldive are definitely worth the extra $$$ over the Addiesdive Type A.

I wanted a Fliger style watch so bought the sterile dial watch that you featured in the Aliexpress sale for £56. Very happy with it on a nato strap. I do wish that they had left off the date window though.

I have the Addiesdive watch. It's a classic flieger, so maybe should be compared to much more expensive fliegers, as from Stowa and Archimede. The SS bracelet is not historically correct, but it fits. I might replace it with a more correct leather leather strap, or might not, Compared to a $1000 Stowa or Archimide the Addiesdive is amazing value for money. The Steeldive dial is more like a Hamilton Khaki.

Both watches seem really well built and both offer bang for the buck. That being said. I'd go with the Steeldive. Can't go wrong with either one though. Great comparison. Cheers!

Comparison videos are always a refreshing approach to watch collecting. I see the strengths in both here, but you have to ask whick you want to look at over the years. It's a shame that Addisdive didn't badge their watch, at least put automatic and the wr rating.

Just received the same Addiesdive watch and it's impressive. I replaced the clasp with a milled one and it's perfect. The bracelet is usable with solid links. The sizing was a lot easier than with a Seiko since you don't worry about missing a collar. The watch weighs comfortably. The movement is decent. The dial is as plain as it could get, I love it.

I have a SD but have never owned an AD, both designs appeal to me....must admit the SD logo makes me smile, it's a bit of fun although I'd rather they just used that than the name, just to tidy up there dials in general....to pick one over the other in the case I believe is down to the dial design, for me personally I'm drawn more to the AD design but would happily add both to my collection....on a separate note both could be good bases for a mod, more so the AD as I'd think you'd struggle to get the the case etc for less....just a thought....as always a good video matey....🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚

I also did not care for the bracelet I got on my Addies dive of the model you compared. The end links were very poorly fitted to the watch, but this was a few years ago. I love the watch itself and it goes with any strap you care to put it on. I find my Addiesdive Willard type watch to be the best value watch that I have purchased. It came on a usable steel bracelet and is a really well made watch and only cost around $80 when I purchased it.

I have the Addiesdive and for me the bracelet is unusable. It's quite large and there aren't enough removable links to make it fit a 6.5" wrist. It's unfortunate because I personally prefer my watches on steel bracelets and likely wouldn't have bought it had I known I couldn't use it. I currently have it on a Watch Steward MN strap which looks pretty good but I liked the look of the bracelet and chose that brand based on that (and the price obviously). Other than that, it's a solid watch though. I've had the Stowa Flieger and kind of regretted getting rid of it so this one helps fill that void.

I have two addiesdive watches and both are well built and run well. I think they are cornering the budget alliexpress market. I have purchased one pagani and it arrived DOA and looked cheaply made. I’ve ordered one tandorio and it let water in while I was doing the dishes and is now a paper weight. If you want to shop in that ultra affordable market I would stick with Addie’s and avoid the rest. They had the tuna homage on sale for 55.00 US last week…just ridiculous value.

Addiesdive make some of the best value watches on AliExpress... especially at the sale prices. I have the "Tuna" watch you mentioned and I agree that it's ridiculous value. I've also got their "Puck" on the way and I'm really looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for watching mate 👍👍

I was under the impression addies and steeldive were from the same company. Like the steeldive but no reason for the difference on price. To all that didn’t like the bracelet, I put mine on a light brown leather and the bracelet looks great on my L’Oreo submariner.

Not sure if AD and SD are from the same company. I was under the same impression as you but then I heard that they're separate. I normally wear my Steeldive on a black leather padded strap with white stitching, looks a lot better. Thanks for watching 👍👍

I used to have the Addiesdive with a blue sunburst dial and I sold it because it was kind of redundant with another watch I have. Later I bought the Steeldive Murph. Both are excellent watches for the money. But I have to say the Addiesdive is the far better value proposition.

Why do you think the Steeldive should have had the NH38? It's just the NH35 without the date or day complication. It's actually a cheaper movement than the NH35 and is not better in any way.

The Steeldive doesn't have a date window. Using the NH35 creates a "ghost" date position on the crown. It's not a big deal to some people but it is to others. It's a compromise that's a deal breaker to some.

STEELDIVE SD1940M is absolutely beautiful watch, but I prefer quartz. And, yes, 39mm is a lot better than 36mm, but still a little bit too small for me. Why I prefer quartz? Because I have lots of automatic watches and to keep them in a good working condition one needs winding boxes. I have only 14 winding boxes that isn't enough and that is why I prefer quartz

I used to think this way too, but when you get up there in terms of pieces in a collection, chasing and changing batteries constantly seems like a fools errand. I whittled down my quartz to a few solar and a few that have personal significance and the ten year Casios, but other then that I'm done changing batteries constantly. I went the winder route, but know that it was causing unnecessary wear and tear so now I rotate two autos at a time and will throw in a quartz here and there. My winders just get used as storage now. Just my two cents!

Great vid!! I've been tempted by the blue Addiesdive for a while now. I've been hesitating because on some pictures online, the numbers on the dial look greenish at all times. I'm worried it might ruin the aesthetics' of the watch. Have you had experience with the blue dial Addiesdive? Is the colour of the numbers really that greenish in real life? TY

Bought the Addiesdive and wow that bracelet is just horrid. Cracks in the end links. I might have gotten a bad NH35 but it's nearly impossible to pull the crown out to the first position without it going all the way to the second position. Trying to use the quick set date is maddening. Wouldn't buy another from them.

@@TimeForAnotherWatch good logo counts a lot. That is often the weakest link in these homages. Their logo and branding is often too large, too white. San Martin, seestern, sea knight and heimdallr seem to be the exception. If Steeldive would choose between the brand name or the logo, would print them in grey instead of bright white, and a bit smaller it would make the watches look nicer. Also some names like Addiesdive, Berny, Tandorio are not so appealing. What’s an Addie’s dive? Tandorio sounds like a made up fake Italian name.
