I like the modern styling of the Cadisen with its rectangular chronograph pushers and its brushed finish on the sides. I wish it was entirely brushed, it would really set it apart and modernize the look. Since it's an homage watch, I appreciate that Cadisen is a little different than the original OG design. It's like buying a classic car but with modern features vs a fully restored classic car that stays true and accurate to the minute details.

I'd give more credit to Cadisen for it's style of case shape and shorter L2L and it's even a bit thinner which makes it hug the wrist better and the crystal is nicer.

I ordered the 40mm Sugess with swan neck regulator yesterday from AliExpress (with rubber strap) for 169 Euros in their stock clearance sale - leather strap was the same price. Today it only costs 161 Euros1 The 40mm Cadisen costs 181 Euros with swan neck! For me there is no comparison at these current prices: Both 40mm case4, both with swan neck and the Sugess with the "Breitling" secondary dial hands and staggered chronno second hand. The only thing I don't like about both watches is the lack of hacking. Grrr!

That Cadisen is a great value. That’s the problem (for me) with Cadisen and Pagani. I am in the position (I completely understand that not everyone is) where I can spend $50 or even $150 more to get a “better” version of any watch Cadisen or Pagani makes. With that said, they both make some of the best value watches on Aliexpress for sure. Thanks for the great comparison!

I like the dial color of the Sugess best. But I purchased the Cadisen. The shorter lug to lug, smaller case diameter and thinner case thickness fits my 7 inch wrist much better.

Great comparison. I've yet to own a Sugess (but often been tempted..), but I have a couple of Cadisens and really enjoy them for the value. I like both of these models, they both have great points. Maybe I'd prefer the smaller size Cadisen here since a smaller chrono is nice to see sometimes.

Good comparison. I tend to agree with your assessment of both watches wrt WR. I wouldn't be confident about any ALI watch without a pressure test. As regards manual wind watches they never have a screw down crown since there is no slipping spring in the mainspring barrel as in an automatic. If a manual wind had a screw down crown fully winding the movement then screwing down the crown would probably pop the mainspring and result in a visit to your watchmaker. 😉

Cheers! I previously reviewed a San Martin hand wind only watch, with a screw down crown. I had to be very careful not to wind it to the maximum!! I believe Vostok have also made some watches with a similar set up (definitely not ideal). Thanks for watching 👍👍

The crown on a hand-winding watch with screwdown crown usually decouples from the stem when the crown is pushed in, making overwinding impossible while enabling screwing the crown in. Think of it is a clutch that is activated ny bressingh the crown in. You can even feel the spring around the stem pushing back onto the crown.

I just got the Cadisen...I agree with some things you said and not agree. I think the leather strap supplied with it is top notch. You have to work a strap in. All new leather straps no matter the cost are stiff. I work it with my hands like you work a baseball glove. It fits perfectly now. They must've changed the length on it. I have a 8.25" wrist and it fits at the 3rd hole.

So Cadisen makes the look-alike of a Bulova Lunar Pilot, a rectangular switch-style pusher watch, with round button pushers, and then they make a Top Time round button pusher watch with rectangular pushers ... totally backwards! NUTS! The Sugess, with pushers, dial, tachymetre, overall appearance, wins as an homage hands down, AND with the "swan-neck", aka "goose-neck" it has the better and more easily regulated calibre, so it wins there as well. If I spend way over USD 100 for a mechanical vs. a much cheaper quartz chrono, I want to be able to tweak it easily, so an extra 30 to 50 bucks is WELL worth it. I fiddled enough with my NH35A watches, to know a goose-neck makes life a LOT easier, when you want to cure your time pieces from losing 20 secs/day Nope, I would pass on the Cadisen in favour of the Sugess, especially knowing they are both homages to an 8-1/2 thousand dollar watch, so what are 30 dollars, when you save enough money to buy a car or get the roof repaired! Aside from that, I have a Sugess "Top Time" in "Shelby" like blue-face in my cart WITH goose-neck for USD 133. I seriously doubt the Cadisen can be sufficiently cheaper to make up for the differences, and frankly, I have not even seen it in my AliExpress searches!

It's a tough call. I prefer the Sugess's dial as the subdials are better proportioned and I like the dial shimmer. Besides it has the swan neck regulator. But the Cadisen case is more interesting and more compact.

Generally I prefer Sugess but Cadisen made the side of that case look like £1000 watch. What i dont like in Cadisen is that the dial seem small in that case, I like the proportions of Sugess more here.

My friend the Cadisen case is 10x better than Sugess regardless how you look at it and what your taste is. Manufacturing that case is much more delicate process than manufacturing the other

These are still readily available on AliEx. Looks like my link was out of date, so I've updated it in the video description. IMO, I'd definitely call this a homage. The dial and hands homage the OG but everything else (case, movement, strap) all differ. No-one can even buy the OG anymore, as it was a sold out limited edition.Thanks for watching!!

The diameter is really only .02mm smaller on the Cadison?!!! When you were holding them up I was thinking it was a 38 mm! The dial certainly is smaller. The shorter lug to lug is really good feature. By giving so many points for things like straps... You literally gave the Sugess a 3 point bump because of a strap!!! And "brand"... Come on.... How many people is that going to matter to? I don't know how you can give the brand an eight! Lol! 8 out of 10? So Seiko must be an 11 and Rolex must be a 15?! Those kind of things getting at the same weight as ...say the crystal, etc tweaks the point total too much. Basically I think you have to look at the watch head... And decide which one suits you... Personally I like the different case finishings on the Cadison... The square pushers and the crystal (the crystal a lot more).... I'm not thinking this is my favorite chronograph though.... That comes down to taste. So maybe what you love about it, doesn't suit me. I'm kind of neutral on the lightning bolt hand for example... And on top of that you just threw on some extra points at the end for which one you like! When you had already given it extra points for brand and for straps... And for things you liked on the dial and on the case. So you just text on some extra points at the end! The thing I don't like about the Cadison is the use of space between the dial/crystal and the other edge of the case. Then that dial color looks a little flat... And the missing partial indices at the three and nine.

One of the interesting things about our hobby is that there are so many different opinions. I appreciate the time you have taken to share yours. On the specific subject of "brand", I mentioned in the video that the scoring was based within the context that both are Aliexpress brands. I think the shorter lug to lug and the relatively smaller dial of the Cadisen make it look smaller that it actually is. According to Cadisen it's 40mm, although I measured it fractionally smaller. "Genuine Leather" is the lowest quality of leather avaiable. It is mostly plastic with a layer of leather in the middle. Usually pretty bad stuff.

I've always found the "genuine leather" term a bit of a misnomer. I've had "genuine leather" straps that seemed to have a high % of leather and others with a low %, whereby the leather was pretty much undetectable. Thanks for watching 👍👍

The Cadisen only has a short lug to lug, so it wears smaller than the diameter suggests. I'm surprised that Sugess don't offer a 38mm version, as there is 38mm version of the 1963 pilots watch. Thanks for watching 👍👍

There's so much about that video that is just your personal opinion that it's meaningless. I prefer everything about the Cadisen right down to the colour of the dial and the much nicer square chronograph pushers and I literally hate the zig zag second hand on the Sugess. The weakest part of the Cadisen is the strap but spend another £15 or so and you can get a great black and orange silicon strap that looks absolutely great and far nicer than the all orange Sugess. Even out of sale the Cadisen is only £118 and below £100 in the sale which is an absolute bargain. Sorry have to agree to disagree on that video.
