Steelers' 30-13 Loss to Colts Continues Season's Epic Collapse | Mike Tomlin Struggles for Answers

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost their third straight game in a 30-13 loss at tha hands of the Indianapolis Colts, dropping the team to 7-7 and out of playoff position. It was another abysmal loss, the team's third in a row, and opens up even bigger questions about Mike Tomlin's future with the franchise.
Mitch Trubisky looked terrible, the offensive line got whipped, Najee Harris even looked bad, and the offense looks lost. The group even looks worse than they did when Matt Canad was the offensive coordinator.
Meanwhile, the defense is a MASH unit with injuries abound, as Minkah Fitzpatrick couldn't return to the game and Trenton Thompson left. After a terrible decision by the officials to eject Damontae Kazee for an incidental hit, that left the Steelers with just Miles Killebrew as their only safety, forcing Patrick Peterson to play safety. Meanwhile, Mykal Walker and Mark Robinson got cooked in the run and pass games, and the Steelers' defense struggled to find answers.
Finally, Chris Carter focuses on Mike Tomlin, who's never seen this bad a collapse in his time coaching. Are the Steelers going to fire Mike Tomlin? Or will they give him the final year of his contract to straighten out the team?

He’s accused of raping multiple women, he insisted on special treatment from Tomlin which justifiably made AB jealous, & Ben threw Mason Rudolph to the wolves when he was a rookie without a QB coach & he told him to “read the playbook”. Ben’s own hometown has rejected him because he was an a-hole in high school. Arnold Palmer (that nicest guy in the world) once kicked him out of his country club. Ben was known for going to bars & restaurants in Pittsburgh & not paying his tab because he thought that they should be “lucky” to have him. Ben was toxic as a player & continues to say toxic things on his podcast.

It's almost as if they ALSO realize (just like the rest of us), that any kind of lead by their opponents - with the Steelers having this putrid offense - is a nigh-insurmountable margin to overcome. The defense is burned out from staying on the field most of the season (hence, injuries) - while the QB and offense is still walking around the field with their thumbs up their asses. With this team, once the D gets gassed - it's usually game over for this godawful offense and the team. Plus, Trubisky at QB is an instant loss - chalk it up- as most of the time when he passes it looks like he's trying to shoot an NBA fade-away jumper (really, WTF?). Just. Damned. -Cut Cam, Peterson, Cole, Wallace… -Trade Trubisky for a 7th round pick -Get Kirk Cousins - Hire offensive coordinator with balls. Bring back all injured players, and draft young to replace those cut. I’ll let MikeT do his last season of contract in 2024. Canada may be gone but this is still his offense. Lose final 3 games and gain as much capital as possible. Tomlin needs to get on podium and admit the team has underperformed and vow that this won’t happen in future.

I agree with most of what you said but no way would I trade Watt. And I would keep Pickett. We need to get a seasoned vet to start at QB but with that said Pickett is a solid back up. That is all he will ever be but give the man that much. We just tried to make that man into someone he will never be but he doesn't throw interceptions and is a decent game manager. He can come in and win us a few games while the starter is out. Thats all you can ask for. But I agree that Trashbitsky should never take another snap as a Steelers QB again. He is absolutely horrible!

This team needs a complete overhaul. Position coaches are failing. There is no strengths on this team. At minimum, new QB coach, O Line Coach, OC, Our wide receivers likewise have sucked. The defense likewise has shown weaknesses. Granted injuries took a toll on the defense. But there have been times when I question the DC. Over all however, it seems like the right time to replace Head Coach and bring in a whole new regime. Omar Kahn needs to address the Offensive Line and inside Line backers big time in the draft.

Mason Cole sucks. He shows some life here and there but overall he's not good. And we desperately need a center. I mean we need a quarterback and a bunch of other things too. But we really need a center.

Trade-yes. Doubt it will happen but would in a heartbeat. Same for DJ, I’ve been calling for that as well and that one should take place for the pick and to free up $10M in cap space. As for the needs and how the picks are used…. who knows.

What is this about Tomlin deserving another season to start a rebuild? He has orchestrated this mess over the last five years.
