As much as I want Broderick to improve and start , if Dan Moore is healthy he has to start. He was the 3rd highest graded O linemen in the league last week and allowed zero pressures

Crazy how we sayin that now, after we put up enough fight to get two tackles drafted and now I’m almost okay with leaving Dan at Left and Broderick at Right🤣

@@alexallegood1040 I’m slightly worried about Broderick , he was the one who allowed both sacks on fields , even though you could probably credit one of them to fields holding the ball too long

I think the defense will dominate and set fields up with great field position this week. Let’s see if he can take advantage of it and score some TDs I believe in him.

I just want to see minor improvements. I don't want to see what we have been for a while which is show promise then next week look like we've never played. Get in the endzone, Fields makes less really poor throws, shows a little more patience in the pocket and we spread the ball. If I see slight improvements here then I have faith in our future. Go out and get spanked by Broncos, and it's just a repeat of last 10 years.

I just wonder what the final vision of this O line looks like. Will we get trade capital for Dan Moore Jr? Do we sign Dan Moore to contract extension if he has solid season? Will Fauntanu or Broderick move to Guard? Or will Broderick & Troy become the starters in the end? Find out next week on “inside the mind of Tomlin”

I have one for you Chris. How about we put the Wilson chatter to rest and focus on the moment. Time to get behind Fields and focus on the TEAM. The Russ Wilson stuff is exhausting at this point. I can imagine how JF feels. He needs to know he’s the guy so he can play free.

Justin Fields is gonna start because Russ is not healthy and Justin played well last game vs the Falcons. If Russ went out to Denver and played bad it would be a horrible look not just for the Steelers but for Mike Tomlin. Coach doesn't need that on his resume losing to Sean Payton with a guy Payton said was washed. Don't let that happen. And so by playing Justin Fields this allows two things. 1. protection of Russ from losing to Denver 2. Continued analysis of Justin Fields as QB 1. This allows offensive coach Arthur Smith to have a full week of Justin Fields preparation for the broncos.

Tomlin takes a lot heat and Sean P. Is highly overrated
@mike2687Ай бұрын
Does have wins in 7 different postseasons vs only 4 for MT… along with an above .500 playoff record. Could be a bit overrated but he’s got a better postseason record than Tomlin.
@donovansign3140Ай бұрын
Mike Tomlin has been to more Super bowls more 10+ seasons winning 10 games or more and a Higher winning percentage in general and they have the same amount of division titles but Sean Payton was competing in nfc south which outside from a few Outliners have been a lock for the Saints But if you want to say you prefer sean Payton go ahead there pretty much in the same boat when it comes to me both have to win another super bowl to separate themselves
@mike2687Ай бұрын
@@donovansign3140 - 2 SB is better than 1. 7 seasons with postseason wins is better than 4. Tomlin has 10 seasons of 10+ wins. Sean P. Has 9 seasons of 10+ wins. Worth noting the Saints were coming off a 3-13 season with 5 consecutive seasons of no playoffs (9 of the last 10) when SP took over vs a stacked Steelers a year removed from the SB and had been in the playoffs 4 of previous 6 seasons-down season was due to Ben having the motorcycle accident and emergency appendectomy.

@@mike2687 So We agree not one is vastly better than the other and I might be higher on sean Payton then you I don't think he's Overrated at all you don't sustain that level of success for that long and be called Overrated not every year has to be Superbowl or bust but both need to win another one to separate themselves from the other vastly Side note: I could invalidate the whole 2009 season with Bountygate lol have a great day
@mike2687Ай бұрын
@@donovansign3140 - SP took over a bad team that was vastly worse and made them a very consistent playoff team while Tomlin took over a SB caliber team and made them less consistent in the playoffs. The aspects I would look at for that are (already mentioned) SP winning games in 7 different postseasons vs only 4 for Tomlin. SP losing two games (his first playoffs in NO and his last) by two multiple scores and 3 of his last 4 losses being the Diggs miracle TD and two OT losses compared 5 playoff losses by multiple scores-consistently high amount of points scored against his defenses as well. When we talk about those many close losses for the Saints vs lesser competitive losses by the Steelers, it’s worth emphasizing that 5 of those losses were wild card games for MT vs only two for SP-typically, this means closer losses to stronger teams vs a larger margin of defeat vs lesser teams. Recent games like last year’s loss might be unfair to Tomlin as the expanded field hurts him as that wasn’t a playoff level team. What does tie MT and SP together are having nearly their entire careers paired with HOF QBs and how important that position is for success. Hard to look at their careers and not take that into account-if Tomlin has success without Big Ben, then many would put him over SP and the inverse is SP finds success in Denver. As for me, I believe the SP has done more to improve an organization from the basement to consistent postseason threats that had a long run. Tomlin’s early career success will always have an element of previous coaching and organizational success tied to it making it the easier path to postseason wins which faded while SP’s did not. I will also say, as with BB, the game might have passed both of them by… the new younger generation of offensive minded coaches seem to be more innovative and aggressive for these two to matchup with-SP is offensively minded but I’d take McVay and McDaniel over him by a large margin for the modern game. Their record isn’t t vastly different but reading the “box score” is rarely accurate enough for assessment. I think SP’s rating is probably about right-I think Tomlin is overrated. I do think Tomlin was a good choice after Bill-a young motivational style player’s coach for an established culture with quality coordinators and existing veteran presence on the roster. At the same time, I believe he was a poor choice for long term success as that culture faded and I’ve yet to see what his positive mark is in terms of team identity. I believe they should have kept him for a couple years after the most recent AFC Championship appearance and then moved onto an offensively minded HC knowing a young QB was inevitable and the ever evolving NFL.
