The quarterback who sucked last year was Mitch The only problems Kenny had was that he couldn't stay healthy, and his supporting cast, 18, and 88, were injured when he played. They were healthy for Mason. Kenny played well against Cincinnati, Baltimore, Los Angeles, and Vegas. He was never as bad as people thought he was even when he was dealing with the fucking idiot Matt Canada. The bottom line is the defensive players who recruited Wilson need to worry about their own side of the fucking ball and stop getting destroyed in the playoffs. They're running out of scapegoats. And they'll turn on Wilson in a minute, to avoid any accountability.

I wonder if they can call for a re-vote? Kenny Pickett is the defense's latest scapegoat. They will turn on Russell Wilson in a minute, to avoid any kind of accountability. Pickett wasn't the problem at quarterback last year. Mitch was. If this fails? 90, 97, and 39 can go right out the door with Wilson. They want to play GM? They can suffer the consequences.

I really think the Steelers were hoping to bring Mason Rudolph back this year, but he had to wait until free agency opened up to talk to teams and Wilson did not. Considering that Wilson cost nearly nothing, it was a easy move. Mason scored points back during what I call his "rookie" year, the first year he actually started, and he scored points this year, I think his QB rating was something like 115. But once Wilson was hired, it was over for Mason, he was not returning to #3 and clearly, Kenny did not think it was fair for him, to be #2. Huge sign of immaturity on Kenny's part. His best bet was #2 and wait for Wilson to fail or just get too old. Even if he was good, that means the Steelers were NOT getting a top 10 draft pick. Now Kenny sits behind a young player who is very good. That opened the door for Fields and now the Steelers have two, count them TWO, maybe's. They both got dumped by their teams, they both looked bad and they both might actually look better, playing for a team that paid nothing for them, meaning, a playoff team that can repair some holes in the lineup and make the quarterback better. Such as a better Center.

Steelers plan was to have Mason and Kenny back. But the defensive players went out and recruited Wilson on their own, and when they told Tomlin that they were getting him to play here he went on board with it. Mason's agent flew to Pittsburgh to finalize the contract that they had agreed to. Only to be told that Russ was coming so they pulled the offer from the table Mason calls Pickett, as they were supposed to practice together the next day. That night Kenny tried to call Tomlin but he wouldn't answer the phone The next day Kenny met with Tomlin who told him that Russ was the unquestioned starter and there wouldn't be a competition And that's when Kenny asked for a trade As he damn well should have. Cam Heyward and his defensive buddies stabbed both of them in the back, and made Tomlin look like a liar. Because at the end of the season press conference after they were eliminated from the playoffs Mike Tomlin already said his quarterback for next season was already on the roster and the only quarterback that had a contract when he said it was Kenny.

You mean the Chiefs game where the D created 5 turnovers and held the chiefs to 9 points? Yes Russell threw 3 touchdowns. Must of been tough when they were for 11, 5 and 4 yards and with all that short field. Don't worry about the whopping 114 yards he threw or the 6 sacks and 1 fumble he lost. Without Russell, no chance any other QB in the league could put up 10 points off of 5 turnovers.

The backup QB is always great on every team until they have to go out and play in real football games. Rudolph played so well that he earned the right to go hold the clipboard for another franchise as a backup there as well 🙄. All 3 of the qb's on Pitts roster the last 2 years will all be backups for other teams this coming season. So saying one was better than the other isn't saying much at all 😂

People are perplexed at the Steelers enthusiasm because they buy into that false narrative that he has declined. It just isn’t true! Nick Wright, who has been promoting the narrative that Russ is no good anymore, low-key admitted that Russ strategically manipulated things last season to pad his stats and drive Sean Payton crazy. Well, guess what! Payton was trying to tank, and Russ strategically navigated that because he knew he would be leaving one way or another. How can a QB be washed yet good enough to manipulate an offense to get his money and nearly lead that same team to the playoffs while his coach is trying to tank? It makes no sense. The Russ we know from Seattle never went anywhere except to a lousy situation in Denver. . The other head-scratcher is that everyone is expecting Aaron Rodgers to return from his career-threatening injury at age 40 and play MVP football in 2024 while expecting a 35-year-old Russ to lose his starting spot to Justin Fields, a QB who over 4 years hasn’t even shown himself to be an NFL-caliber starting QB. Fields has shown terrific athleticism, but he has some people drooling thinking he’s another Lamar Jackson. He might not even be starting QB caliber. I think Fields should consider switching to WR/QB2/PR/KR or WR/QB3/PR/KR. Fields isn’t LJ because LJ is a much better passer. He can at least hit SOME tight window throws. Fields only hits the layups…wide-open receivers. Secondly, what has LJ done besides win two MVPs on the backs of loaded squads and lead a team with 15 Pro Bowlers to a first-round playoff exit?! Is THAT what Steelers fans want? Is that what fans and media outside of Pittsburgh believe constitutes success? Even more ridiculously, these folks are expecting Kirk Cousins to have more success with Atlanta and remain their starting QB for the next five years, despite his also coming off of a gruesome leg injury and having an abysmal playoff record. Russ is still a top QB if not an elite one. Have people looked at him lately? He’s ripped! He looks greasy fast. He has a hungry look in his eyes like a man possessed. There’s no way Fields beats out Russ this year, and I would bet money that Russ plays better than Rodgers and Cousins this year. People need to pump the breaks on trying to push Russ out of the league.

The Steelers are a good fit for Wilson, much better than the Broncos. However, Wilson's decline began in Seattle. On top of that he was never an elite QB, he was a very good player on a team that catered not only to his strengths, but covered for his weaknesses. The minute he wanted them to let him cook, they jettisoned him. The results of let Russ cook under Hackett are well documented. In regards your comments of Nich Wright's take of Wilson protecting his TD-Int ratio, are those the actions of a good leader? His ego and baby-kissing ways have followed him from Seattle to Denver and most likely came along with him to Pittsburgh.

Much like Gase got a HC job due to Manning and McDaniels got two HC jobs due to Brady. Both Gase and McDaniels stints as HCs showed that they were less than suited for the jobs they got due to established QBs playing for them. Oh and I could care less how many babies QBs Warren Moon, Doug Williams, Lamar Jackson or C.J Stroud kissed, but somehow it became very obvious that it was very important to Russ, much more important than anything else.

So don't use Wilson's statistics to justify what Tomlin did to Pickett. Because Tomlin didn't care about statistics when the white guy from Ohio threw 33 touchdown passes in his next to last season and won 12 games.
