Can we acknowledge Justin Fields needs to improve as a passer? I know Chicago did not do him any favors with the lack of weapons but the numbers are the numbers. You can say what you want about the Bears mishandling of Justin Fields and they did but sub par completion percentage and yards passing, anemic TDs, terrible at reading blitzes and getting sacked and blown up along with leading the league in 4th quarter turnovers. Nobody really even wanted him. That’s a fact. Steelers gave up a bag of chips. Media just don’t want to admit they were wrong on Fields. He’s barely a starter in this league. Meanwhile Russ is still solid and getting him for almost nothing was a great move. Hopefully he’ll stay healthy. The hype around Justin fields is crazy, this wasn’t even a steal since the bears already moved on from him, if fields doesn’t start a game this season who’s going to pay him with nothing to back up a crazy contract.

As a Bears and Fields fan, I'd rather see him sit behind Wilson this year so he can learn behind a veteran QB. He can take over next year maybe and then he'll be QB1. Even if Wilson doesn't mentor Fields, there's plenty to learn from just watching.

Russ will kick the crap out of fields in training camp. Russ still has a muuch better arm. He could use this situation to transition into the best starting QB he can be in a year (maybe 2). People seem to forget if they didn't pull Russ for the last 2 games there was a good chance that that sorry Denver team make the playoffs.

I'm not sure the Bears were looking to win the deal. They wanted to do right by Fields, he wanted to go there, they had other offers, and they sent him there because it is the fastest path to be a starter. It's a win/win deal. Bears will get their guy, Fields is in a good situation.

Stop the nonsense. Every team wants to win whatever trade they make. There was no market for Fields, that's just the truth. Stop pretending they passed up 2nd rounder or whatever just because they wanted to "do right" by Justin

Here’s why Russ is needed. The Steelers offense has no leadership. Ben wasn’t a great leader. The entire offense is younger. There needs to be a locker room leader that’s a veteran that know how to act on the field. Russ will be Mikes voice on the field and on the offense.

Ryan was a steeler but stays so neutral on takes russ play style alot like rothlesberger as far as decisions and arm Fields is more like kordell stewart but with better accuracy Fields will be patient and learn because the steelers head coaches are always respected leaders and russ is no idiot he knows hes under pressure but a good kind of pressure he becomes a trading piece if justin performs the best fit for russ if justin takes it is being the starter in miami by week 5 for the team who has the injured starter the last 10 years there has been a significant injury to a qb1 but i think this is a healthy competition for both players and the leadership in Pittsburgh like i said before will keep it professional

Its a stupid question. In litterally any scenario possible the steelers won the trade. Yes even the one where fields is really bad for them. Why is that? CUZ THEY GAVE UP A 6TH ROUNDER FOR HIM!!! Even if it turns into a 4th rounder is anybody out there upset at getting at worst a subpar backup quarterback for that price.
