Everyone forgets that most QBs take 3 to 4 years to adjust to the NFL. AND ON TOP OF THAT remember Kenny got thrown to the wolves and had to fill big shoes. Matt Canada was a quiet bomb waiting to blow and this entire team was about to demand a trade. But after the fire I knew we were coming out running and screening. Kenny is a baller literally and with a solid playbook he understands better he is able to show his ability at year 2. These guys not only proved Canada was the problem they showed us they can move the ball with ease. 16 points was the product of Kenny learning a whole new offense. Watch next week their gonna score over 27 points and get another 400 yard game and from their it will only get better. 400 YARDS IN 58 GAMES (4 seasons almost) is sad and Matt held this offense back so bad. I do respect the man for standing his ground through it all and everyone in the Steelers franchise said good things about him. So he must be a good guy just not the OC for the steelers bully ball defense dominant screen passing offense. But i think this is the confidence boost Kenny needed. Good news Pitt fans I'll be seeing yall in the playoffs baby!!! HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!! 🖤💛

Huge step forward for this offense; still just a hair off of where they could be when they put it all together consistently, and I think if/when they get there the points will follow. But to get 400 in the very first game without Canada just absolutely cements the fact that he was a huge problem for this team and one of the worst OC's in NFL history. This game was actually watchable bc of how well the offense moved

Been so long, I almost forgot we had a Pro-Bowl caliber receiving tight end on this team. Seriously, though, what an absolute rebuke to the Canada offense for them to come out and grab 400+ in the first week without him. I almost feel bad for him... but then I remember it was his literal job to be competent and I feel worse for the team having to endure that for so long. Looked like a different offense out there on Sunday!

KP was surprisingly so much better. Accuracy is still off like on the non catch for a TD by DJ (thrown behind vs in front) but he overall played so much more confidently. Gotta love it and hope it just keeps building moving forward. For me the biggest thing they need to address is the attitude on Offense. DJ being the main culprit, especially as he is a veteran. The lack of effort even prior to the ball being fumbled is embarrassing to see. Someone on the team needs to drag his ass over and tell him to give the effort...literally the whole team was running towards the ball on the fumble...it was picked up by HIS defender. Also the crying for the ball when it doesn't get tossed your way, Muth did it again and on a day where he had career targets/catches/yards...my man, you throw those kind of exasperated hands up when you miss your chip blocks?

These plays to the tight end 3 to 10 yards over the middle - I asked for this since three years. Makes the field wide and open up so many opportunities. The score doesnt reflect how much better they looked. Not defending Canada in saying this, but we have been seeing this same kind of progress. I honestly felt like the Browns game (which was primarily on Canada), the O line was horrendous. From a scheming aspect to the way a few individuals have played. Warren may had good numbers but tbe amount he was contacted behind the line....he made those yards. Very big difference for them with the o line, run and pass. Kenny actually had time to blink his eyes before two people were slobbering on him. You could still see the progression was there with Canada, just simply not enough and not fast enough. May I also point out, Kenny still is having to make some very hard throws. It is a VERY rare instance yhat he had anyone really "open". Tight covg dictated being surgical. He showed he has that ability on multiple occasions. When the recivers also do their jobs. Add 7 points and its almost exactly what I thought it wpuld look like. Think how much better the D can be if the offense can continue to control the clock. Outside some opening drive TDs or early game pre-adjustment were made, they haven't given up much in scoring. Especially 2nd half. Factor in two substantial losses, one compounding the other with both starting ILBs going down in two weeks. Actually its the performance since that shows the TEAM'S resilience to those situations. It worried me because it felt like we JUST got the figured out. Fortunately it seems to have followed into our depth. Also the fact that Roberts was really a third starter just based on his career before '23. Even having a running game (2 wks ago), last game with 400yds was against the Broncos. They are suddenly emerging as a pretty decent team as well. I hate losing to where I can be a miserable person for the day (days) after, when the Steelers lose. One thing i have learned to not be with them is impatient. We arent a traditional NFL dumpster fire team.....i.e. Browns, Jets, Lions, Skins. Lol, at least it feels like each division has their own perennial shit show. (Im juat happy I was literally born into the Pitt dynasty. Timing, location, and a family (one side anyway) that bleeds black and gold.

Whats crazy about our defense is that our ranking doesnt even relect how good the defense is because up until last week they spent 90% of the game on the field. DJ is playing hurt and isn't telling the Steelers. Watch every pass that requires his left hand to absorb the force of a pass. He actually hurt it 4 weeks ago trying to catch a perfect pass. Now, he's protecting his left hand (thumb specifically) and it's hurting the offense. DJ is just too weak to catch any pass that requires his hands only to catch.

Interesting take but he also had that nice snag across the middle that was low and all hands

@@5StarMatchup Right hand absorbed the force. Left hand guided the ball in. Take a look at his last 3 games of targets and think about how we ourselves catch a ball to our right, middle, and left. This is also why he tends to run back to catches so he can cradle the ball with his body. He's just too small and weak for nfl.
