The best things from this outing as it relates to Fields in my opinion: 1. No turnovers. 2. Only two 3 and outs. 3. Time of possession was over 35 minutes. While his stats were not eye-popping and the team certainly needs to push into the end zone and not settle for a FG, I liked, for the most part, what the team was able to do. The offense wasn't a complete liability and was able to keep the defense fresh.

J. Field could’ve done a lot more. Don’t forget that one drive before the half. This was planned for the game to be played in this fashion. And receiving core should be Austin and Pickens. And the offense will be unstoppable
@DeCurtaRican2 ай бұрын
You mean “corps.” Don’t get it twisted. Technically, you aren’t even wrong. The word “core” means “center”, “hub,” or “middle,” so that’s not wrong, per se, as the main targets within the WRs do represent a “core” of sorts. But corps means “team” or “group,” which is more directly applicable, and within the starters the core is not a core.

@andrewszymanski35782 ай бұрын
The play calling was obviously conservative for Fields today. And I think that’s because his skillset is different from Wilson’s. Fields is obviously more mobile than Wilson. But Wilson can read a defense better. In Denver last year, which was one of lesser years, Wilson still put up 26 TDs to only 8 INTs. That was on 15 games. He could have had finished with 3,500 passing yards with 30 TDs. And that’s on a lesser roster.

I'm loving the win, don't get me wrong. There is a lot of good but a lot of obvious bad. That time of possession stat really is not all that impressive being that we had two take aways that they didn't replicate. Thus, more time played. It was NOT due to extending drives. At the same time, our defense played nearly lights out. The TD against them never should have happened because they should have been punting. Poor, PISS POOR officiating led to that. The Atlanta offense was also not able to sustain drives. Some of the offensive losses were simply due to good defensive play by Atl (meaning AS needs to scheme it better). The refs being against us was like an extra man for them and we still came out on top, so I'll take it and smile for sure. Najee and GP BOTH need to just use their size. Stop trying to be east/west backs. It never fails, they break momentum and they go backwards. The run where GP got swallowed. I know there was not the hole he was expecting, but he's too big of a body to change direction like that. I'm sure when he was a kid, he did it well. Just seems both forget that, definitely more GP than Naj, but even him at times. That second thought and stutter at the line, L Bell had a way of doing it like nobody else. I don't know if that's what Naj is trying to replicate? If so, not in sync yet with the O-line. It was better from preseason but still far too many mistakes. Not enough time for the QB and not opening clear lanes consistently. Again, very hard to judge because of the penalties and so many being so absolutely atrocious calls. Just one example. The announcers are saying roughing or running into the kicker. The punter was hit by a man diving at him, with the intent of diving that direction. The punter is now being helped off with a potentially serious knee injury. I could see how they could say he was helped into the punter by the blocker and just hit them with the 5yd, "running into the punter". That's reality, but somewhere OUTSIDE of reality, this group of NFL refs live and exist. I PRAY that the NFL does something about this team. That was only one. The offsetting double PF call against Broderick, again OUTSIDE observable reality. Sorry, I could go off on a long rant about living in reality right now. And seeing that today just reminded me too much of the real world shit that I try to escape with football. You'd think that's how everyone would live, but obviously not.

Gotta keep JF at QB1 at this point, the first 9 games are relatively easy based on preseason and current standings. The Defense is good enough to lean on as Fields continues to improve vs the beginning/ easier half of the schedule and as the team enter the second half he can start to hit his stride and the team will have a balance attack and a QB for the future. Taking him out only hinders his growth especially if you want him to be the QB of the future

1. Pittsburgh would be better off with Boz as mayor considering the fools that have been elected in recent years. 2. No complaints about the Steelers performance but i would’ve like to see them kick the field goal to go up by 8 instead of going on 4th down. Would’ve taken more stress off the D down the stretch.

What's so good about Russell Wilson he's done nothing to this point why people don't see this keep Fields as the starter 🤬🤬🤬

Yeah dude the Najee getting his helmet ripped off was a joke.. the no call on the roughing the punter was a joke.. the personal foul on Broderick was a joke.. the Falcons should’ve gotten stomped today

It amazes me how yall are so hard on GP14. He’s a young man trying to find his way. You have grown men on your staff acting like babies and they continued to be employed at PG and no one says one word. Leave George alone.

Same great defrense, same stodgy offense. Fields best stat = no turnovers.

Did you you worthy? Instead of a receiver we tried to fill a spot that wasn't empty; center was empty receiver empty slot corner empty but they drafted another undesired receiver and a great line backer and macormic will be good however they keep adding strength to strength and missed out on too many opportunities to call this off season a success

I disagree. They addressed O Line, MLB, and WR with first 4 rounds. We needed a WR with Johnson gone, we had practice squad MLBs last year, now it is a depth piece, and our O Line was one of the worst in the league, so we built on that. How would you have done it different? What player was available and where would you have grabbed them...over Fautanu? Frazier? Wilson? Wilson? MacCormick? I mean, maybe we could've grabbed a corner but who wowed you prior to the draft that would be a better fit? I think the draft went well and we have depth across the board minus WR. My biggest complaint is we signed 6 FA WRs who were basically WR3 or WR4 on their previous teams. I mean, I wish we would've saved the money on Watkins, Fitzpatrick, Van Jefferson and instead offered more money to get Tyler Boyd. Imagine our WR corps of Pickens, Boyd, R Wilson, Austin III, and Patterson.

My thing is they went left tackle when they has a body in the spot already and passed on several receivers and corners I get the fack that they drafted Roman Willson but they already had him in ca3,so the only spot where they improved was at center, what other spot did they fill, with someone who makes the team better

@jonathanquinn7153 I feel Fautanu was truly a RT draft so Jones could play his role as the future LT. Fautanu may be listed as a LT from college but it was with a lefty QB so his role was that of a traditional RT. This was filling a need (RT vacancy with Jones at left) unless you are content with the RT performance of Dan Moore. So they addressed RT, then C, added Gaurd depth, WR, and upgraded with the best MLB in the draft. I don't know that any of the corners would have immediately upgraded our team. Also, the bigger issue the past seasons was offensive production as opposed to our stellar defense. We added 4 offensive players. To me, it was the smart move. But we can disagree. Just appreciate talking football, haha.

@@brucestack1658 having a left handed qb doesn't change the direction of his play and I really think they need to draft the line men for their position, right now jones is struggling and the best fit for the time is dan more left troy right only because the injury to the right arm of jones thats keeping him from punching its hard not to say jones has been the weak link, but it eary

@@jeffreyburns2626well you want a shit offense all year long. Fields can’t make read or throw with accuracy. It’s because dumb fans listen to people saying Russ is down but if we put his stats on our team last year we are in the conference championship game

Good game, but I was expecting more out of D line...most notably, Keanu Benton. He got beat up the entire game. He was a total non factor!! Heyward too for most part.
