Yeah the RGB on this headset is just so freakin dope. And the chatmix dial is really an under-rated feature for me. Works wonders especially if you're a multi-tasking guy. Switching audio on the fly is a breeze. Arctis 3 is a great choice too if you're after wireless and a good looking headset(minus the RGB)

Uhmmm..haven't tried the others really..Initially I planned for an Arctis 7 but budget did not permit so I settled for an Arctis 5..the Arctis 7 is wireless but based from reviews..it performs like an Arctis 5

Just like any white peripheral and furniture/items, it does discolor over time. I found a remedy on mine. I brush the discolored parts with toothpaste and now it's white again ahaha

yeah white peripherals look really nice but they're really prone to discoloration. But the toothpaste trick really works wonders

Just like most white peripherals, the part you always hold will discolor over time. The severity will depend on how acidic you are(I'm highly acidic and have really sweaty hands). I maintain mine by cleaning it every week or so with a mild household bleach(Domex) or toothpaste xD

@@yanghadi yeah..white peripherals hate people like us :( My g102 white has also discolored as well. I managed to restore it but it was a pain scrubbing. And I already replaced my Anne Pro 2's keycaps with a purple/gray colorway since the stock keycaps also discolored haha

Hey man. Just pick up the 3, as it only has 3.5 mm connection, so it would be easier to just plug into controller, they are optimized for that. The 5 gives you more sound customization though PC, which then carries over when you use it with the console. The 5 can be connected to controller with 3.5 jack as well, but they sound way way better when connected via USB. Arctis 3 is cheaper and more convenient for the console, if you don't mind sacrificing some customization and a little bit of small audio details.

This works on PS4 via USB so I would recommend it over the Arctis 3. The Arctis 5 offers better sound quality and since you mentioned it being cheaper then it's really a better deal. It's alright for me. A bit thin compared to the Asus Tuf H3 wireless I tried before even with bass boost. It's not something I would call poppy but I like it coz it blends well with the highs and mids. I still here footsteps on FPS games with clarity and accuracy.

@@RamjoTejada yeah I heard the cloud 2 is better. I mean the arctis 5 is still good for it's price. I've no complains with it. But if you're looking for a really poppy bass then I suggest you look elsewhere. I made this review after being on a budget headset so I was more than satisfied with it. But after trying out a few more mainstream headsets, I came to realize that the bass of this headset is a bit thin.

@@wisenpie9651 yeah..white peripherals take a lot of effort to maintain. I managed to remove some of the yellow stain with some bleach and kurin water though. It's not really noticeable on camera but it's noticeable when you look closely and with bright lights

the plastic used on the arctis 5 is white itself..it's not coated so I found the bleach effective..but the steelseries logo got removed when I cleaned it haha. I might do a follow-up video on this soon once I'm done with my pending videos

I just bought this A5 to replace a Kraken TE bought last weekend and now returned. The A5 sounds far better out of the box. IMHO the Kraken TE's only advantage is the greater dedicated controls on the dongle.

I don't think it will work..the Arctis 5 processes its audio through it's ChatMix dial which is its DAC..if you will not use the DAC you must use the 3.5mm adapter and let your PC/device process the audio for the Arctis 5..RGB will always work on USB since USB carries 5v charge which is enough for RGB lighting but I don't think audio will work if you don't use the DAC or the 3.5mm jack

Sorry..I can't give an educated opinion on this because I don't own the Blackshark V2 nor the HyperX cloud Alpha pro. I personally think they perform just about the same when it comes to audio with some slight differences. I've searched reviews of many headsets before buying the Arctis 5. I mainly bought this one because it looks cool and to my surprise, I found it comfortable

I badly need help. My issue with arctis 5 is that i dont think the chatmix dial is working. When i turn it on the right (Game) max, my game sounds loud and the my discord too. But when I turn it all the way to CHAT, i couldnt hear anything. Shouldnt it max out the discord, but kind of muted my game? Im on the edge of just throwing it

You got the settings in reverse most likely. Make sure your default speakers are Arctis 5 Game on control panel. "Chat" is your default communication device and should be the device set on your discord and other communication device. Though from my experience, Discord automatically sets it but it never hurts to double check that. Ohwww, if your game has a way to set its default speakers, make sure it's set to Arctis 5 game. If you've done those and you still can't get it to work, might as well reach out to Steelseries support for a replacement. They're pretty quick.

Not really. Did you have your noise cancellation settings configured? Or it could be that the sound is bleeding out from your cups

@@KonzTech Yup it's maxed, still the mic captures it. Yes it bleeds out like a speaker. So I guess that explains it. Have you tried cranking the volume way high then try using the live mic in the steelseries app? That way you'd know.

If the console would detect the USB connection it will work. If not, then no. The chatmix dial connects to the PC via USB

No. I don't have a ps4. The chatmix dial is intended for PCs. I've seen someone comment here that they managed to get it to work on their PS5..not sure about the ps4.

Haven't personally tried any for console since I don't game on them. Try looking into JBL or Sennheiser brands. They probably have something for consoles..Steelseries has Arctis 1 and Arctis Pro for consoles/PC. Pro has its DAC that can connect to a console..just read up an article about it..try checking them out.

yes. 7.1 virtual surround messes up directional audio..most people just leave it off and then turn it on if playing like open-world games for better immersion at the expense of positional awareness. I personally don't have issues using this on Valorant. This is my main headset and it has served me well to this day.
