Love how the left hand can create its own bass line on this piano. What a beautiful tone. Nice.

Sounds superb! My favorite schtuff, seen them live several times w/ Walter, always phenomenal! Glamour Profession has some of the coolest sounding keys ever IMHO... in stereo, too!

Wonderful, Robert! Got to see them two times in Sweden with Walter. First one with Ricky Lawson on drums. And I totally agree about Glamour Profession. Maybe ... the coolest chords in a song ever. :)

Many thanks again, Wayde! :) An opportunity to try the Famous E with a phaser sound. Best phaser VST is still the free Phase90 by Antti. If anyone finds a better one, please let me know.

I've tried to find out which Steely Dan sessions the E Rhodes was used for. I've narrowed it down to a few, mostly off of Gaucho. I can't really hear it in the Aja sessions other than on Third World Man, but I think it's the Rhodes on Babylon Sisters, The Bear (outtake) and possibly Kulee Baba. It's supposedly on The Nightfly as well. Do you know anything more about this?
@StefanOlofsson Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I can't be of much help here. Anything with a clear bell register would be a possible candidate. Since the piano was owned by an LA rental service, probably only LA sessions.
@michaelcaplin8969 Жыл бұрын
@@StefanOlofsson Actually, it was flown to NYC quite often for bigger sessions, so anything LA and NYC is a candidate, which is their whole discography, lol! Tack ändå:)
@StefanOlofsson Жыл бұрын
@@michaelcaplin8969 Ah, haha, well there you go. I think Jay discovered it around 79-80 though, so that leaves only Gaucho as a candidate.
