The WC is by far the best province in the country, yet everything is held back by the corruption and poor national governance. Loadshedding, looting, corruption, cadre deployment, incompetence etc. severely diminishes anyone's ability to act. People are migrating to the Western Cape in record numbers, because even the "poor" have it better there than in the rest of the country. Imagine how miserable you must be to leave your home province, because it's been rundown by the ANC. It's easy to be bitter when you're poor and blame those closest around you, but it's almost always a small group that are responsible: the government. They're the ones in the end that are responsible for what's happening in the country. Rather than fixing what's happening, they would sacrifice all that we have to just to stay in power. The ANC have been part of some admittedly great things, but they ride that at all costs, even its own people, for that greed of power. The only way to fix the poverty in the Western Cape, and South Africa, is to bolster our economy. And I don't believe you'll argue that the DA hasn't done their best to do that. But with the ANC running the country into the toilet which negates all the positives in the WC, it's easy to just blame the DA for "not doing anything".

I have 3 doctors in my social circle, one is heading to Scotland (anaesthetist) and two are going to Australia (surgeon and GP). Their houses are sold, tickets are booked and they are gone… that’s just in my circle, and I’m not even a doctor, so imagine how many more I would know about if I was! All have said that it’s because of the NHI, as well as other factors like crime, safety, corruption, education level for their children etc. But most importantly the NHI because under it they will no longer be able to sustain their families and the benefits of their long hard work and successful careers. The ANC needs to go, and not just half go by bolstering their numbers with coalitions. The only way they can truly be out, is if people vote with their heads. Please don’t waste your vote on smaller minority parties like ACDP or any other party than the DA, not because you fully support the DA, but because they are the biggest opposition party to the ANC and have the best chance of defeating them. I understand the “better the devil we know” argument but we know this devil (ANC) way too well now and we have seen them slowly but repeatedly destroy our country over the last 30 years! And yes that is 30 years / 3 decades / a 3rd of a century!!! How much longer does the entire country need to suffer under the false illusion and guise of fixing apartheid yet they (ANC) are doing nothing for the people apartheid hurt the most? The only people who the ANC (read including EFF and MK) will ever help, is themselves and their comrades in the struggle. They will help themselves to stealing most of the 15% VAT and income tax from every single person, from grocery packer to CEOs. Why would the government not listen to Doctors in this case, to me the plight of Doctors carries more weight than an opposition party... is this an election ploy to give us an idea of who the ANC might partner with after the election... The NHI is expected to cost SA around R600 billion p.a. which is around half of the total revenue collected by SARS. Where will they get the money for all other services, infrastructure, education, policing, roads etc etc etc? By raising VAT to over 20% and imposing many other taxes on us, which means we would all have to live under the bread line. When are they going to stop??? I believe that the DA will win this case agains them. Please vote DA!
