-7.8°C, nice. It's been over 20 years since I've gone camping in those sorts of temps. On those temps, I remember walking on grass sounded like walking on potato chips - very crunchy.

G'day tim, Another great adventure.👍 You need to do an educational video about respecting our magnificent mountain streams. Recently I was camping near woods point and witnessed people washing dishes, using soap and shampoo, and even going to the bathroom in the river!

Gday tim I love touring, and the tough stuff. My GQ is a ‘tough tourer’ capable of both. Everything under the car is solid, no hollow suspension components. Both diffs braced, coil towers braced. Can’t break anything 😃 Love the video, and love the almighty high country! Cal

Another great trip Tim thank you for sharing. With those temperatures l am happy to watch and live vicariously through you from home until it warms up here in Victoria. If you are going to take your mate's out with you more may l suggest you upgrade to a bigger table. It was ok when it was just you but the table looked too smart for 2 grown men to be preparing and eating meals off it. Looking forward to your next journey once again. Jason.

Did you go in via Burgoynes TK.. What perfect start to the trip! The Track, The Weather and How can I not mention The Country Views! Spot on. That first camp looks very familiar And how good is it. Tim Mate , absolutely breathtaking scenery. And so interesting to see it.. I am lucky I have seen so much of this beautiful country .I love painting the trees especially the ghost gums .. I don't think we will doing the rough tracks ,as we check the prices of the Toyota's, bloody hell they charge like a wounded bull.Wifey wants to get a new Kia carnival and just go camping and travelling .Cannot afford 2 vehicles and a home when we get back ..Her visa is still 14 months away... She even watches your videos with me and thoughly enjoys them .Especially the way you take the time to answer your viewers.. heh time. Something you like ..baked beans ...I made them today as you cannot buy them here they import them in from Australia, cost an arm and a leg ..Mine turned out nearly the same as brought ones .. Another great video Tim. Just as it is almost impossible to show how steep some tracks are, it is also impossible to capture just how spectacular the views are in the VHC but that was a great effort. I know the spot where you camped and it looked calm, imagine it with wind chill!

Them switchbacks are very tricky if you get them wrong,my land rover turning circle is not the best negotiating them and it is scary if you get them wrong. Talking about land rovers mine is in my garage getting the steering box reconditioned,hopefully l be traveling to Queensland when this lock-down ends.

G'day mate, I did explain why and it sure works really well on cold mornings. Yeah we don't get -30 I've seen first hand, diesel motors not start the next day after exposure to an icy cold night, and those nights are no where near the cold temps you mention. If you do buy a Patrol get a manual. If you buy the automatic and put bigger tyres then you'll have to get reduction gears. That'll cost you another $2200 fitted. Wish I knew that before I bought mine.

Just a question do you guys always stay that close when hill climbing or do you guys talk about it before you start the climb. When I climb a hill with other people I tell them to stay way back just incase something goes wrong. Another great video mate like always.

I like the ground too, but put a heavy tarp down first. Never got the appeal of a stretcher, tried one a few trips and now it's gathering dust in the shed.

Gday mate, Yes, they came off as part of the weight reduction. Best part of 40kgs came off with those. Weight is everything going forward in the Patrol. Cheers Tim.

@@andrewmorgan4306 number plates are on both cars mate. My rear number plate isn’t on the barn door. It’s on the spare wheel on the other side. Number plates have to be on all the time. I wouldn’t drive without a number plate on.
