No. You can tell by the fact that nobody queues up for this ride anymore - everyone is too shit scared to go on it ... JUST KIDDING! - it's a great ride, but it is more brutal and dangerous feeling than you would expect. If you think it's just sitting on a horse, gently going around the circuit without a care in the world - then think again!

Agreed. I went on when I was 14 in 1984. It looked a little lame and slow...it wasn't and I was terrified holding on for dear life. Absolutely loved the experience but nerves far too wrecked to ever go on again. I regret my cowardice.

This is such an old ride! But one of the best vintage rides at BPB. It's slow in places, as it was designed to be, but the rails get high and jumps/turns are scary! You really feel like you're racing the others and hanging on for dear life to that horse! Glad its still there. I used to go on this many years ago as a boy - unique, terrifying and fun

People really underestimate this ride. Went on this with a friend and the first time i nearly cried as i thought i was going to fall off, it didn't help that i sat at the front. Went on it 5 times, great fun :D

😍💗 I only ever went on this once in 1984. Once was enough. I loved the experience. But I was soooooo scared. You had absolutely no protection (apart from a lap belt that didn't seem to do much). Pretty high up too and being flung around corners. Actually surprised nobody ever fell off or died whilst riding it. Wish I had the nerve to go back on. I absolutely LOVED it in principle. One of the best old rides in the park.

The year was 1969. The place, Pirates World in Dania, Florida usa. Search it and check out the images. I was 6 yrs old and weighed about 40lbs (18-ish kg). My uncle sat me in front of him. No belts, no signs, just sheer terror and the direct cause of my fear of coasters today. I cannot believe Steeplechase existed as of 2011 still. The comments here are hysterical. Pirates World apparently had some big-name concerts as well. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin. Thx for sharing I tried to face my fear of falling out or off of rides at Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ by riding Kingda Ka. Search that POV video.

I went on this ride and it broke down when I was on it I didn't get injured or anything I was on at the front of the horse and my sister behind me as we were going up the hill at 1:15 is when the ride stopped I didn't know what was going on I herd the people who worked the ride shouting at everyone who was lining up shouting at everyone to leave. The house we where on moved a lot and it fell back down the hill and eventually came to a stop we where stuck on there for about a hour waiting for people to come get us once they reached us they had to help us down because the horse was high up and we walked of the ride after that the ride was closed down for a couple of days until it opened up again.

This ride is quite scary. The reason for that is because the person sitting at the back has nothing to hold on to! Also it's really bumpy and you constantly feel unsafe... Other than that it's an okay ride.
