Defining the problem:
Our ultimate goal is to use Arduino to design a video game
controller that functions as a steering wheel. Add to that, we
want to create an unstabilized steering wheel, unlike the typical
one which is used for PC video games nowadays.
The solution:
Mainly, we use the gyro sensor to get the required data and to
detect the movement of the object. After processing this data,
we will be able to tell if the gamer has moved the controller or
not. Moreover, we will be using 4 LEDs as arrows to know which
side the player is moving to. We also using a buzzer as an extra
feature so we could tell if the gamer has exceeded the normal
speed or not.
What we need to tackle this problem:
- Arduino set.
- A breadboard.
- 4 LEDs.
- A buzzer.
- 4 resistors “220 ohm”.
- 10 male male jumpers.
- 2 female male jumpers.
Explaining our workflow:
We start by constructing a circuit on the breadboard. The circuit
consists of 4 LEDs and 4 resistors. The circuit is connected to the
gyro sensor which attached to the Arduino Set. Doing so, we are
capable of getting and processing the data on Matlab. Using
Matlab made it easier to track and 3D graph the movement of
the object.
