I have owned the D2 Delta PX for nearly a year now and I agree with Stefan. It’s a really cool watch. But it would have been much smarter of me to spend the money on flight training. It’s good to track the accuracy of circuits etc. I don’t regret spending the money but you absolutely don’t need this it’s just a cool toy. Keep up the awesome content mate!

I bought some years ago the D2 Charlie because I am a private pilot. Nice to have it but frankly speaking, I have never, never used it during a flight... Plane instruments coupled to a iPad for any flight informations are quite more relevant and reliable. The good point is the autonomy of the battery which can reach more than 2 weeks before charging. Just to say that I will replace it by a Samsung Gear x more useful and easier to use for a day to day life.

Absolute humorous and informative entertainment....... Thanks Stefan! Really well done. The fact that the D2 has an Analogue face makes it very appealing to me. The integration with the Nav suite is fantastic and the Garmin App is....sweet. I would gift it to my very ill brother, so as to get him flying again. I imagine it could be of the greatest value if one was to loose your GX-650 in the air; another means of redundancy. God bless stay safe..

I'm wondering if this would be a useful product for GA aircraft and pilots that don't have a cockpit full of modern avionics. I'm thinking of those that fly historic aircraft, experimental aircraft, PPG pilots that do cross country and similar. Something compact on your wrist would be far more manageable than a tablet on your knee board, especially for PPG use. Something that you can set up (presumably) a warning on the pulse oximeter to let you know if you are approaching your limits would be great. Having some basic navigation capability would also help to keep an eye on fuel when you meet an unexpectedly strong head wind, and a way to double check heading and ground speed in cases where you don't have the instrumentation or something unexpected happens.

I have the Garmin D2C Titanium, been amazing for military, fixed wing, and float plane flying. The watch is going on three years now and it’s made it through two deployments. Unfortunately the titanium band didn’t make it more than a year and I had to buy another band due to manufacture defect, $200 USD (Garmin wouldn’t cover that). A fellow pilot bought the D2D and I literally wouldn’t pay an $500 USD to get three additional features: Pulse Ox, Garmin pay, and 500 song capacity. I wear this watch for work, working out, and flying. If you want a cute lil watch to listen to music, digital pay, text, phone calls, and other life’s conveniences don’t get this watch. Go with another company or dare I say get an Apple Watch. The D2D isn’t justifiable since they didn’t upgrade the screen or any of the features you actually utilize during flying. Save yourself money and get the D2C or wait till the D2E comes out with hopefully some upgraded features for flying. Ultimately don’t spend the money for the D2D instead put your money towards flight training, aircraft avionics upgrades, or save up for a plane. If someone gave me the watch or if you can acquire it like Stefan did then go for it.
@loopbackish4 жыл бұрын
Yes, this watch is technologically amazing, but it is just a fitness watch with flying functions bodged on. The start/stop for flying "activity" drives me up the wall. It isn't designed for pilots. I'm an airline pilot and software developer so I just wrote my own apps for my watch. In a few hours I could write way more useful and reliable applications.
