If the chord progression is written directly, it will help more music lovers who don't understand English, like me. Happy New Year.

What a soulful progression? But why in the major context not the minor?
@stefanguy
@stefanguy 8 күн бұрын
Hey - Growing up, playing in church and in bands we've always only ever called numbers from the Major perspective. Why? Because in the context of playing a song, major or minor is irrelevant. I'm assuming you understand relative majors/minors - that every major key has a relative minor key where the notes are exactly the same and thus the chords are exactly the same. For example G major has the same notes and chords as E minor. It makes in 10x easier to have 12 keys in your head that you know the numbers for than 24. It's of no added benefit to know numbers in minor keys. (As far as I'm aware).

@@stefanguy I see! Because I thought when you land on the 6 chord it sound very stable and resolved, thats why I thought the key is in the vi. But totally understand from the teaching standpoint. Thanks for the answer!

The only thing about youtube is someone is like "I want to sure you something that I've been hearing lately" Basically thousands have used it and it's being shared with thousands more. I miss before when everyone had their unique style. Seems like few want to come up with stuff of their own.

I hear you, but it’s just a single line within a 9 minute video. Are there other channels that create the same type of content in the same way? I’m referring to the video as a whole, not just the line you’ve highlighted. More importantly, is the information not useful in any way? First and foremost, I create videos to share what I know or am learning. If you found none of it useful, then fair enough. But if you found any of it helpful, my approach would always be to "take the meat and leave the bones." In other words, take what’s useful and leave the rest. There are many reasons why someone might choose to include something in their video when posting on their channel. I could give you plenty of reasons why what you’ve pointed out is so common, and I actually agree with you but ultimately, it’s not that important. There’s 9 more minutes of content to discuss where the substance lies. Let’s do that. Let’s talk about the theory, corrections to the theory even, or the music itself. Do you create yourself?

In the learning process you have to copy and understand before you come up with your own style.

@@stefanguy I just want to mention that this is more about youtube and as mentioned I miss the days of pure creativity. I respect, and appreciate what you do which is why I didn't mention your name, I mentioned youtube, I used the statement as a general example. I ended by saying i miss the days when people had unique styles. So...this isn't to you. You're just teaching what you know and I highly respect that and hope you have a million subs by the end of the year. It's just on social media everyone is doing the same things thus making nobody stand out these days. Yes I produce music, film, and do photography. SUCCESS TRULY! I hope all great things come to you this year!

I feel you and appreciate this comment. I took it personally because I understood exactly what you mean. And that’s on me for taking it personally. It frustrates me too, that we have to package information in such a way, with thumbnails, catchy titles and hooks. When all I’d love is to give the information straight and for all my subscribers to actually see the video in their feed. It’s why I’m so infrequent on the posts because of all of the additional things you have to do if you want your content to actually be seen despite people subscribing to receive your content. Retention is king, low retention, KZbin says we’ll just stop recommending the video. It’s been a huge pain point. Even still you’ve given me something to think about. Thank you for your well wishes though man, really appreciate it and same goes to you this year with all your creative endeavours! 🙏🏾
