I'm a simple man: Stefan uploads a video and I unquestionably watch it. Stefan awesome video. I was wondering for a split second 1) what you did to quiet your canopy creaking and 2) why you left the cabin air open BUT *Then* I realized it's the Lak and not the LS when you put the power on. 😂 I have a similar question to another: what is the benefit of the short uses of the motor? Just testing it out?
@SteFly3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, it is the LAK17c FES and not my LS3. In this type of competition we are allowed to use 1,5 kWh of electrical power. So you should use the energy somehow and I had about 0,9 kWh left for this final glide. My idea was to use it in streight flight and after the higher ridge, so that I can get higher to the next ridges and thermals.
@Daniel-on5jf3 жыл бұрын
About the cracking noise of the canopy, try some short parts auf the teflon tape, used at the ailerons. We put them in the gap between canopy and fuselage, espacially in the area around your head

@@Daniel-on5jf great idea! And won't make a mess! I like it. Earlier I was saying "wow Stefan made his canopy quiet!! I wonder what worked" then I realized it wasn't the squeaky but quiet LS3 😂 it's the not squeaky but louder Lak. Just funny that I thought he had fixed it. Thanks for the idea. @pilot_Julius303 жыл бұрын
@SteFly3 жыл бұрын
Vom Gefühl her funktioniert das ganz gut.

More electric assisted flight! Must be an absolute blast. But with the added weight of batteries and motor, how is the glide ratio of the electric compared to your normal machine?
@TheSoaringChannel3 жыл бұрын
The weight doesn't affect it at all. It's minimum sink goes up, and ground handling is not as easy. Then there's maintenance. That's it. No glide performance loss with increased weight.
