This for me is the coolest and hardest thing to describe to other people that don't climb. The climbing community is so open that even the greatest in the world welcome and encourage others to climb as hard as them. It's like a famous footballer turning up at a random 11-a-side match and joining in.

@@nathantvedt8300 nah he's totally fine here, it basically would be sitting in the rope. If he'd fallen while setting up the kneebar though, it would have been pretty bad, because his leg would catch the rope and he'd be thrown upside down. He's doing it this way because he needs to clip, but he has to be really careful/confident while doing it

I'll be there in a few months, Stefano. I look forward to taking you up on the offer to climb together. Now, how do I jump from a 7a+ to a 9a+ in 3-4 months?
@alexbarcovsky43192 жыл бұрын
I recently progressed from 7a to 7c in just a few months and I think the biggest factor was just learning to read and dial routes. The power was already there (started off bouldering, V7 on moonboard), but I lacked the ability to make moves easier for myself. Its really essential (for me) to know harder routes by heart and try to perfect every single move, including, or maybe especially, the easier ones. Hope it helps.

@@kockarthur7976 I know he was, but I was on the same level just a few months ago and why not give some advice?
@madraven59152 жыл бұрын
@@alexbarcovsky4319 lol, if you climb 7A+ on the moonboard, and only 7a route, ofc your progression is fast. You probably had never spend any real time climbing routes before this. That doesn't mean the same progression is possible for everybody else. You essentially were way too strong to only climb 7a.
@alexbarcovsky43192 жыл бұрын
@@madraven5915 Thats is correct and I am aware of that, still though, many (if not most) people nowadays start off with bouldering so this advice would still probably apply to majority. If thats not the case for our friend up there then my advice would be to boulder more lol.

Not much compy about a standing jump to decent holds, plenty of boulders and a few routes begin this way.
@babsds02 жыл бұрын
@@zacharylaschober Lots of comp boulders of a similar nature which involve a technical sideways jump off good feet to a faraway but decent hold (decent when you hit the hold precisely). I don't think this kind of movement is common outdoors and even then there's more often than not a way to avoid going dynamically.
