I asked two non-watch people to compare my Steinhart Ocean GMT to a Tudor Black Bay ... neither selected the Tudor as the better watch.

Hi. A quick question... Does the Ocean 500 watch has a lot of glare and reflections on the domed crystal? can you compare the 500 to the GMT flat glass for glare and reflection. A message here is more than enough friend. thank you

Great video, confirmed my decision to go for the Titanium, especially with your comment regarding superior build quality. Please do post video with 500 on a NATO strap or one of those Maratac "kevlar" straps, should look great on either black on black or blue stitching on black. What kind and color or leather strap did you order?

+toobalkain Hi sorry for late reply. My ocean 500 has gone to my dear friend after his visit to the UK - so I will have to get another one for me. But let me give you my own opinion after trying a couple of nato straps I did not like it, for some reason they did nothing for the watch. I even had on the steinhart rubber and again I did not find it was giving its justice. For me the Titanimum bracelet is a match in heaven, maybe this is one of those watches that has to stay with original bracelet. I wonder what other owners/viewers thinks about it.

Thanks Roberto. Based on your and TGV's reviews, I just ordered one from Steinhart directly. It's a "pre-order" so I am not sure when I will get it. At the current exchange rate that they used, came out to $600 USD exactly, with shipping. I believe it will be a watch that I really enjoy and has great quality and features for the money.

It arrived yesterday. Not disappointed at all. Already experimenting with rubber and NATOs since it is still hot where I live. And it seems the titanium bracelet will be easy to scratch. I like the grey tone though, different. Thanks again for the review that led me to the watch. BTW, $601 USD delivered, ordered straight from Steinhart. Great value, I think.

Ha, maybe one day. Have only been "collecting" for a few months. In automatics, I only have the Steinhart and a Hamilton. But I have caught the bug and will be adding watches - progressively more expensive most likely!

any update on how you like the 500? what do you think is the more robust movement the soprod or eta? this will be a do all watch and I always end up beating the snot out of my watches dirt biking, working out etc I'm pretty much 99% on getting a 500 in the next few weeks

Hi I am not an expert on movements but my limited knowledge is that the soprod is a movement build from the ground and keeps excellent time and also known for its decorative blue screws gold rotter etc. ETA long established working horse and you cannot go wrong with either of them. The 500 is a well made watch. My only concern is that putting it thru it's pace what the bracelet and case would look like in a year down the road and I don't think one can restore Titanium material to its original condition . By all means get the watch. for those dirty biking moments I would consider the seiko SKX009 I have one and I use it when I am doing activities that may damage the watch even when I am on the beach because Sand is great enemy to some watches. Hope this helps.

Oh okay I was actually going to get a Tudor pelagos buckle/whole bracelet and when it gets beat up I'll just refinish it in brushed (sandpaper) might take an hour or two but shouldnt be too bad, also I like the well used aesthetic personally Thanks for the help!

Hi what I think ? Great watch strap not 100% sure tried with various straps mostly nato but went back to original strap but I can tell that after few months of desk diving it will not look nice and unlike the steel ones not even sure if one can polish and cleaning up a bit. Would I buy another one No.

Really nice video, getting better and better! 😉 And thanks for answering my dilemmas. But regarding scratches for the 500, after 2 weeks, what's your opinion and/or comparing with stainless s? Remember people like weird details that can't find on the net... 😊 I'm thinking also to go towards the 500, better everything (more expensive tough) but my biggest biggest problem on the others is those damn Mercedes hands, it's fine on a Rolex but if I get an Ocean One, won't tell in the morning when I'm sleepy if I'm putting my Submariner or my Steinhart.

Dan thank you - with regards scratches on ocean 500 bracelet it's wearing great no scratches so far. Following your comment at the end Go for the 500. Alghought I love the GMT and will use as a working hose and at times I don't want to damage the 500. Come on press that button to guarantee delivery by end of October.

I agree for me personally not sure about the all blue but is is a nice looking watch.
