I got hooked on your build because of the extent and the parts included in your build. I do not own a GBody, I am just interested in seeing the outcome and follow your build. Good work

i am doing a 8.8 on my cutlass I ordered the trick chassis 8.8 double adjustable uppers and i also got the steinjager lowers but i got the double adjustable instead of the poly ends just for the extra room if I needed it for adjusting. I did have to grind down on the front mount just like you did but my axle mount slide right in. all in all i was very happy with them. I was kinda worried at first that they were gonna show up and not be what the description was because the price was so much lower than everyone elses but they showed up and were beefy and the hardware seems to check out. the test of time will really show but I can't see why they wouldn't last a while.

Yeah man I agree! I thought they were pretty high quality! and the people there are very helpful if you ever need to talk to them. and that price man you can't beat that! hopefully my video helped your choice!

+Big Deezy well i already had mine before I saw your video but it was good to someone else using them. keep up the videos man. I had thought about doing videos too but I'm just not patient enough to stop and do them before I start working...

+Alan Brossett yeah idk why I started mostly because I just didn't find alot of information or people showing this kind of stuff from the start. mostly g body's. when I started I could find only a few people showing gbody builds like this. then people started asking questions and wondering how things work so I just kept doing them.

in a previous vid you welded extra metal in the control arm brackets(on body of car) and in this vid you had decided to grind metal off of control mounting sleve to make it fit . do you have a new recommendation for that situation?

on rear (mounts)
@dhosack858 жыл бұрын
well on the frame i boxed the lower control arm mounts in not effecting the opening for the control arm and on the rearend side the lower mounts on the 8.8 are too wide (for this application not all year 8.8 have wide lower mounts) so to fit the gbody control arms I had to weld In 1\2" spacer so the arms fit snug. so basically you'll probably have to grind the sleeve to fit no matter what. hopefully I understood your question and answered it correctly.

+Big Deezy thanks for the info I wasn't sure if it still had to be done (metal added if you shaved off arm)
@dhosack858 жыл бұрын
+Bucks Bucks yeah the lower gap on this 8.8 was way to big for the gbody arm. I think the Lincoln Mark 7 rearend has narrow mounts and I also think some of the 90's mustang rears were narrow too. not 100% on that

+Big Deezy I watched all your videos trying to get all the same parts ,and I mean all the same # . you do the homework on parts , we like quality and we love a good deal/price. I respect your build and wish I was not far from you I would love to help for free ,not only because I know you would help me on my build but the hands-on experience on g body build is priceless

i just bought adjustable upper control arms for my 79 gbody malibu and the upper bolt on the upper control arm i cant get off how did you get behind the top one to get the nut off i saw in the video yours are adjustable too so im assuming youve done it i cant get a wrench on it any suggestions?
@dhosack857 жыл бұрын
Ken 126 it's kind of a pain. I think I had to use a ratchet some extensions and a wobbly. I'm assuming your talking about the one that's on the back side of the chassis toward the body. it was definnot easy. we just did that on my buddies 79 Monte and it was a pain. I think I did my uppers with the body off so maybe try that! Lol! naw try the extensions you may need someone to help so you can keep a wrench on it. it was hard.
@kennyc62867 жыл бұрын
alright thanks lol i cant take the body off lol but i will try a socket instead of a wrench its just suprising no one has a video of it on here do u think theres enough room behind there to shove the bolt through the back instead then the nut towards the easy to get half?
@dhosack857 жыл бұрын
Umm you can give it a shot. I'm thinking you can't get the in through that way but doesn't hurt to try. Good luck!
