The menu font is the same they used for Chaos;Child, while that futuristic blueish is the theme colour for Robotics;Notes and its spinoff DaSH. I have no idea why they mixed them up together like that.

I hated how they pretty much removed the phone mechanic from the game, it's literally one of the most import things in the original, also removing the lists to see what you've unlocked also sucked, it was just a let down. Atleast it came bundled with LBP, that alone was worth the price on steam.

Elite was my first experience with steins;gate and I liked it. Many of your problems come from it being a blend of the original and the anime, but if you haven't seen either it's not too bad imo

Okabe repeatedly time leaps after the radikan scene in the VN when he isn't convinced to let kurisu die. I believe it only happens during the kurisu route. He insists that there must be a way to save them both and runs to the lab to time leap over and over, eventually getting stopped by kurisu. That's where the whole kurisu ending scene happens, afterall.

Steins;gate was my favorite anime for a long time and when I heard about elite coming to the switch, I decided to buy the switch for the game. I never played the original visual novel of S;G so I didn't have any idea of how it would be different. While I was playing elite, I didn't really notice reused shots or the missing dialogue from the anime, but I do think that the pacing was really hard to stay invested in. Had I played the original visual novel I would probably feel similarly to you however having missed that content I really enjoyed what elite brought to the table. The missing endings that the anime didn't have were really interesting to see and I'm glad I got to see them through my own gameplay. Those endings really show how certain actions in someone's life can lead you down a completely different way of living. After completing elite I loved it and thought of it the best way to enjoy the medium that is steins;gate. After watching the video I feel like I may have been lead to believe something false. The reason I love steins;gate so much is because of the way the characters interact with each other and how each of them grow throughout the runtime. The clip you shared in the cafe between faris, okabe, and kurisu was concerning because I do value the banter to such a high degree that its a shame that elite couldnt do better. Great video, it was helpful to gain your insight.

VN fans criticized the anime adaptation for a long time, and now anime fans are criticizing Elite. The anime eventually earned praise from VN fans for being a top-tier adaptation once its quality was recognized, but what about Elite? I don't think Elite will ever be re-evaluated positively, especially now that a reboot has been announced. The biggest issue I found in Elite is with Suzuha's storyline. In the anime, there are clever scenes that show the Lab Members and Suzuha being close, but in Elite, nearly all of Suzuha’s relationships are omitted, making it feel sudden and strange when Okabe decides to help her. Steins;Gate is more about the characters’ memories than just time travel, and Elite only contains what's strictly necessary for the story, so the emotional impact is much weaker. For someone experiencing the story for the first time, it might not be an issue, but as someone who has seen the original or the anime, it’s really frustrating.

While you have a lot of valid points, two things that I think Elite did better was having Okabe on screen more, I honestly forgot what he looked like most of the time so it was nice to see him react like other characters and not just hear it. It made me care and understand him a little better. The other thing is some of the more action heavy scenes are more exciting and dynamic because you can see it happening. Okabe is running, well we can see it instead of a black screen and panting sounds. Helps show the action than just describe it. Does that make elite great? Meh, so long as people experience the game I’m not going to gatekeep them if they want to play Elite

It wouldn't be a Sci ADV extended re-release if it wasn't plagued with issues! Seriously I've been playing Chaos;Head NoaH, and I had no clue that a fucking Visual Novel could have *so many bugs.* Not to mention the based it off of the censored PSP version, and also the fact that fans are porting the 360 version's engine over to PC by hand it and plays like 10x better than the Mages PC version. idk why Nitro Plus doesn't just step in and go "ok fuck off Mages, we've been doing this shit much better for much longer just let us handle it."

Even though I still think fondly of the Steins;Gate Visual Novel ,I can not say that I liked Elite that much. I'm not that surprised that you came this conclusion (I'm more surprised how bad it really is). Couldn't get into Elite again, as I said in the comments in your original comparison video. Still holds true today. So we shouldn't wait for Zero Elite as Zero on its own was ... well you know what I mean.

Bought a French physical copy on ps4 because it was sealed and only £10 uk version would be nearly three times. I liked it but I couldn't get into it either because I watched the anime too much or English subs. I loved anonymous code partly because of a English dub but it didn't seem as well put together but was good

I gotta say as someone currently playing through Elite, I strongly disagree. Sure the phone mechanic would’ve been cool to have, but this is a narrative first and foremost and I don’t think removing the majority of the phone mechanic hurts the story at all. Your other complaints honestly just seem needlessly petty to me. The menu looks fine lol what’s the problem? That’s the type of menu I expected honestly coming from the anime. The voice acting doesn’t really clash too much with the animation for me. Complaining about the text font? Why? It’s simple and actually very easy to read and doesn’t get in the way. The script is also enjoyably more slow focused and calm than the anime in a way that I love. Complaining about not having the phone and then immediately complaining about the phone showing up at the moments it does is really laughable. I appreciate them isolating the choices to select screens (if the full mechanic can’t be there that is). What you’re saying is like getting annoyed every time a dialogue option shows up in Mass Effect because it quote “grinds the story to a halt.” Patience much? I think you were way too hard on this for no reason personally.

I was just actually talking about an anime/VN hybrid on the four and didn't know it was attempted already. Except my idea was using AI to help assist with animated scenes so the developers can get 100 times more sprites and backgrounds to use. AI for drawing over, that is, which would cut down on time needed for the artists. I was thinking of a future where instead of getting 30+ shows every quarter, there would be a shift to this type of format which would have more liberty with it being uncensored. So we'd go back to pre 2010 where we only got like 10 shows everyone watched and the rest of the LN slop that gets adapted goes VN hybrid only.
