Is it just me, or did Jerry's singing of this song become more heartfelt the later it got in his life?

I had alot of fun at all Dead concerts. I went to Cornell University for a Dead show. Some girl had a Secret can with a bunch of sugar cubes. She told me she was selling LSD 25 for $2.50 a hit. I said I'll buy all of them. She said I only need one hit I bought 2 one for me and one for my friend. It was great. And the show was really great. I picked up some girl hitch hiking after the concert. I had a great time.

Video: from PanelTour ("I shot this video in the taper section buried under some coats. Thanks Pat Cooper, Marcus Barnett") LOL If they want the credit, I don't give a shit, but I'd love to hear more about how they claim they did it. Does this look like "buried under some coats"? Seems a little low for the taper section, too, right? Three other things that characterize this video can be observed and verified but would be difficult to guess. Garcia and Carlos are so far apart musically, but they do go back together a long way. I guess they were good friends. I think Carlos knew it wouldn't be easy to blend his forthright style into a tune as lilting and subdued as this. Santana finds an entirely different set of rhythmic choices than I've ever heard with the Dead - kinda wish there'd been more of that. Though, I suppose saying "I wished the Grateful Dead played more like other bands" AND "I wish other bands played more like the Grateful Dead" is kind of finicky, if not overtly poopy-headed.
@Lampstand75 жыл бұрын
So they invite Carlos to play on one on their most complex songs. Not that complex, but , on stage, learning ? ,subtleties. Man, if I invited a guitarist on stage, I'd give him a chance,not, oh it's A min, then whispered in ear.
@ceeweedsl5 жыл бұрын
It wasn't his first rodeo with the boys. He knew the band and their territory if not the song. They did always try to do songs that would work with Santana's style, it seems. You wouldn't see them bringing him on for Eyes, for example. Bluesy songs. Along the Watchtower. Or a rocker.
