Last year it was Baldur’s Gate 3, then it was Helldivers 2 breaking the modern mold, but we need innovation and taking bold risks in order to progress. The day one patch of Stellar Blade has also applied censorship to certain outfits and considerably toned down the blood and gore (confirmed by owners of physical copies). The devs have confirmed that this was part of the day one patch, but wasn't "censorship" since this was allegedly supposed to be part of the original vision. When certain questions were asked about Sony's involvement, the Devs apparently gave unconvincing remarks and reactions that Sony wasn't at fault for this. This is all sketch since the Devs were on record for promising to keep with their uncompromising vision and many altered outfits and scenes of blood and gore were unaltered for advertising. People are kinda sick and tired of Sony's censorship and the un-equal application of censorship that they seem to love to do (usually censor the heck out of eastern titles, but let much more egregious western titles pass, ie. anime games and jrpgs showing cleavage vs things like Baulders Gate 3 and The Last of Us Part 2 partial or full on nudity and sex). There is a petition going around... not sure if it'll do anything, but at least we could probably put numbers to paper and give off a big stink in gaming news. I dont understand what is offensive about "Hard R Shop". Some people are too sensitive, and make a huge deal out of nothing. It's such a shame that verything keeps being changed, because a select few are butt-hurt. Also in Stardew Valley, Gourmand the frog had his dialogue completely changed, because someone got butt-hurt about the Caribbean accent. And I have dozens of such experiences with narratives, dialogues, models, animations change, because someone was butt-hurt and cried about it.

I kinda believe when he said that the version that was patched was the intended version, because the game has some outfits that are more lewd that have 0 alterations, like the ocean maiden outfit, also even if the outfit covers the boobs, it makes the ass more pronounced which for me ios weird that if you would censor something you would make something more pronounced, if what Kim said was true i can see them reverting the changes, but the best case scenario would be letting adding both versions.

Obviously it wasn't intentional. The graffiti appears in randomly across the game and the R shop is a reference to an actual in-game location. Honestly "Hard R" is purely an American euphemism and even then it is far less common than the usual euphemism for the term which is N-word. Most people outside of the US wouldn't have a clue what you were talking about and maybe assume the euphemism is actually in regards to the word about people who are mentally disabled. Even if it was intentional though the literal function of using a euphemism would be to avoid the offence the actual word referenced would cause meaning it still wouldn't be offensive to put Hard R in it. Literally the only reason they are making a stink about this coincidence is that they already hated Stellar Blade for Eve's character model and the studio's refusal to cave to their whinging about it.

The game got completely censored. They "fixed" all the revealing outfits and even toned down the blood & gore. Every single promise in regards to "uncensored release" was broken and Shift up's Lead even went as far as to state the version that was >promised< was the "day one" version. How convenient of them, considering the censorship was rolled out along with said day one version patch. Sad, very sad.
