So nice to see your video I have a half dozen or so Stellar flutes that I purchased from your father. The F-sharp is my favorite. I hope you folks are still building these beautiful flutes

well this was fun:) i'am minimalist (less is more) and the simplicity of this tune sounds soooo nice! sumtimes i add grace-notes or taps and cuts, but this basic arrangement is the one i play the most... and the one i play when sumone say "play us a tune" i got my F# Stellar flute last year for Christmas and was surprised at how easy it is play. maybe it's the size of my room... or the acoustics or sumthing? but that lowest note is awsum and always resonates beautifuly, filling the whole space and i feel like the sound is inside me? thanks and Kudo's to Lily for sharing her version of this tune.

Thank you for leaving such a nice comment! I'm really glad you liked the video. I'm not the most tec savvy person and I only just realized I have a bunch of comments to respond to! lol! Some flutes do have a very resonant low note, more than others, but the room you are playing in can have a huge impact. Try playing in a parking garage!

Hello. Are there any more lessons? I feel I have the pentatonic scale down and need to learn about other notes. If you don't have anything else, can you recommend a book?

Is the vibrato the same? I really like how you break it down so it's easier to learn the song.
@StellarFlutes5 жыл бұрын
I think vibrato and tremolo are the same thing when it comes to flute playing. Maybe vibrato would have been a more accurate word because that tends to be related to singing and tremolo is more commonly related to stringed instruments. Both have to do with making an osculating or vibrating sound with the instrument. I'm glad you found my explanation helpful! It's kind of a tricky thing to explain.

Do you have sheet music for your song?
@amandasteven14003 жыл бұрын
. . . when i was learning to play i thought sheet music would help too. but it didnt. i soon realized that sheet music was somehow making it harder for me and i dont kno y? learning by ear has kept the learning process simple (for meanyway) i mean, most tune are in one octave and we only use 7 or 8 notes of the minor pentatonic scale. one nice thing about KZbin? we can slow the tune down to half-speed and Lily will play it 100 times and never complain :)
