I think some people have trouble making that sound. It's just like rolling your r in Spanish if that helps.

Great intro to various techniques, Lily! One my favorite flutes is still a rosewood G I bought from you guys years ago (I think I got a deal because it has an extra set of "direction" or tuning holes at the foot, but that just makes it more unique). Another thing you could cover would be bending notes and "popping" or "barking" on notes.

I will sometimes add a little sharp blow at the end of a note as I uncover it, It's hard to explain what iy sounds like but I heard Joseph Firecrow do it.

I've heard the quivering referred to as vibrato and the of the tapping of fingers called feathering. I am an extreme novice and although I knew a couple of them, I learned a couple as well. Thank you for the video. PS My vibrato sounds like a chicken hiccuping… :)
