I know right! I recently re-watched the early seasons and I forgot just how much of a "bad boy" he really was. In season 1 he sleeps with a women to get drugs! and sleeps with Shay's girlfriend hours after they broke up. It's like night and day between then and now. In season 1 he tells Shay if he can't be on squad his life is over, stuck behind a desk for 6 months, fast forward 7 years and he's telling Stella he's ok about working at OFI because "as long as I get to come home to you, I'm ok wherever I go". In season 4 he's telling Mouch to bail on his wedding. Season 8 he's telling Stella how they'll grow old together. He's grown up so much. 😂

@@jessicagonzalez697 That's not true, that's like saying a teacher you had for 2 months when you were 9 had more impact on your development than your friends and family who love you unconditionally. He had his "I don't want to be like Benny." epiphany after Stella called it off the first time, before he even met Anna, and it was Stella who encouraged him to try with Anna, and Stella who supported him when she died, in fact that whole arch just felt like it was only there so Stella would realize how she felt about Kelly, just like Zach was there so Kelly would realize how he felt about Stella. It also felt like he was never truly honest with Anna, like he was hiding his flaws just trying to prove he wasn't Benny. Anna saw this knight in shining armor that saved her she never saw the real Kelly, and even she realized Kelly and Stella had feelings for each other. Anna was only there a couple months and after she died it was back to drinking and womanizing. Severide's change has been gradual over several years, while Anna had a minor impact on his growth the main reason for his change is Stella. She helped him grow into the man he has always wanted to be. Kelly to Stella: "You deserve a better man than me, so I decided, I'm gonna be the man you deserve."
