I think gaiafying the 3D Printer Array Planet would've made more sense since then you have 2 planets that your people on Primary can migrate to
@Arghore3 жыл бұрын
Personally would have gone to the planet overview and just grabbed the biggest planet... or close to the biggest, given strategic placement of services might be a thing too.
@beowar3 жыл бұрын
@@Arghore would've taken a lot longer since it's a planetary edict, so he'd have to colonize first and then trigger it, can just as well do this now and then start colonizing the biggest planet followed by gaiafying when cooldown is done
@MrEtheric3 жыл бұрын
Ok another 3.0 change that would be very useful for you to use. If there is unemployment on Primary and free jobs on secondary (which you can easily make happen by closing jobs in the colony management screen) then at a certain rate pops will automatically migrate from primary to secondary which would save a lot of infulence. It is somethign like 1 per year or so, which is a decent help. Probably it is now too late to use this though, depending on how far ahead you are.
@jonnunn41963 жыл бұрын
Considering there's almost no time left even at the start of this video --- it would probably have been too late for a comment on this to save population from primary even in episode 1. (Episodes 1 - 4 appear to have been his first session.) This is the first in a session - so he's probably recorded thru either 8 or 9 but the exact episode count of each session has as much to do with him remembering to put a cut in episodes as it does how long his playing session is.

@Cethinn3 жыл бұрын
Since Secondary is already decent for your main species it may be better to start a colony on a less habitable planet and use The Last Baol on that instead. More colonies are more better.
@jonnunn41963 жыл бұрын
Probably, but it doesn't look like he was aware he'd get an Gaia race added. He thought he was just getting a planet converted to a Gaia world. But see 22:24 - apparently the artifact can be used more than once so he can still use this on that planet that's currently only habitable to the refugees.
@MrEtheric3 жыл бұрын
That is a good point. He probably should have used the artifact on the other planet first, then it would have made it easier to get the population off primary as there were too places he could go, and it would be easier to get the infrastructure up and running. he is currently capped on how many jobs he can get up and running on secondary due to the build speed.
@MrEtheric3 жыл бұрын
Yeah can be used every 10 years if you pay the influence cost.

Grr quill STILL does not know how the number of building slots is generated has changed in 3.0. BUILDING SLOTS ARE NOW A FUNCTION OF NUMBER OF CITY DISTRICTS, TECH AND MAIN BUILDING TYPE. I has NOTHING AT ALL to do with population any more. So yes you can build buildings on secondary. Just need to build a city district first.... I guess the constant changes to how things work in colony management in stellaris is some work to keep up with, but still..
@Genesis89343 жыл бұрын
Also, not sure when the change was made but districts add a lot of administrative usage and going over your admin cap severely impacts your research costs (and speed by way of costing more). On the agri world, I would be building city districts to get more building slots and then spamming hydroponics for farming jobs. :) Would be hella cheaper in terms of admin cap usage if you can get your jobs via buildings rather than districts.

Why not turn a large, low habitability world into Gaia world, instead of one you can already live on?

My thoughts exactly. I was just going to type it when I looked and saw your post saying the same thing. There are a couple of good Generator worlds, one of which could have been colonized and made into a Gaia world.

Yeah, that influence cost is a major pain. There's a reason I chose Corvee Labor as a civic for my Doomsday race. Because it removes that cost, and I'm going to be reforming my government later on when I gain the third civic slot at the latest. And depending on how you want to RP your race, it can be quite fitting. After all, if you are an emergency world government formed to evacuate you race to safety, then sometimes just throwing manpower at the problem will be beneficial or otherwise useful.

Yes, that relic is insanely good. That's why people kept telling you to excavate that stuff. This is the very solution to your very problem. Yeah, maybe you should have grabbed that one system sooner. I always tunnel towards anything with a dig site in it. It's not ideal, but that's just me.

I've learned the lesson with AI hopping through my border to grab systems I cut them off from and reserved to myself. You want to prevent that just claim the systems one jump off the border and then it'll be too influence expensive for them to want to bother jumping through to claim what you left open on your side.
@jepeman3 жыл бұрын
Or close borders.
@sharkman46983 жыл бұрын
Yep, you have to block off the AI first and back fill your interior later, so your dominion initially starts out looking "stringy" instead of being a solid blob. Those lower right systems (Gianfar, Iolam, Broon's Singularity etc.) should've been left for later IMHO, there's not much in them and they chewed up influence that could've been used to grab the Thradd system earlier.
