Unrest put food and consumer goods at -21 eve tho i have 2 consumer goods buildings and all slots on the planet on food with priority to food work. My first Doomsday game I had it revolt about 5 years before it would explode, the rebels expanded to 3 systems I hadn't taken while reaching for the distant new homeworld I was building up. Then it revolted again against the rebel empire resetting to 1 system before I took it back to resettle the pops who are all now super pissed about being occupied despite being moved to a safe system, awesome ridiculousness!

The part around 08:00 gives me an interesting idea for RP run: Take doomsday origins, crank up the native count to the max and the goal of the play would be as follows. Quickly find a native civilization and makes it part of your empire ... but let everyone of your original species on your starting planet and let them die in the explosion ... And then play using the conquered/uplifted species ... Kind of playing your original species warning a less advanced one about the danger and advantages of technology, and urging them do do better. "On the shoulder of giants" in reverse after a fashion if you will ;) I am curious to know what people think about this :)

Ya, I didn't work on my stability and my pops revolted... I took it back and saved some more through resettling. Then, soon after the 3rd doomsday warning they revolted again... I went to war to get them back but they became a vassal of my rival and I suddenly found myself in a war I was not ready for. Surrendered, lost a couple systems to those rebel scum... but when things went boom I just re-conquered those systems back.

My first run of Doomsday, I used slaving guilds and Science Directorate. Academic Privilege + Chattel Slavery meant my specialists were VERY efficient and my workers were also VERY efficient. I got the first colony situated just as the slaves rebelled and enacted their planet-wide suicide pact. The colony had one pop when the planet exploded. 10/10 DLC.

Taking Nomadic simply to mitigate the costs of a one-time event seems wasteful. So long as you can actually *afford* that final exodus from your doomed homeworld, it seems likely that your economy will recover promptly without Nomadic. ='[.]'=

I've been doing a game with doomsday. I've had to cheat twice to avoid other empires killing me, and I'm one of the smallest in the galaxy. I also picked non-adaptive, and got extremely lucky to get a desert planet (not my preference, savanna, but it was bigger than my hw and really close so whatever), and the Baol precursors. I now have three gaia colonies, and am worried about most of my neighbours. Edit: Forgot one detail; my hw rebelled successfully and blew up in like 7 years.

First time I tried Doomsday, I think my nearby colonizables were blocked by hostile NPCs (thanks, Ancient Cache of Technologies) and forced me to go around 15 jumps away before I found any kind of habitable world, and it was a desert world while my preference was continental. Kind of made for a really good story of a desperate search and struggle on a difficult world, since I only managed to evacuate the original world 3 or 4 years before it blew. I'm actually kind of disappointed that each time I've tried it since, I found habitable worlds literally next-door.
