Due to an error with recording there was a hiss/static noise running through this video - I've removed most of it but it is still present when I am talking in places where I was just unable to fully clean up the audio without causing more problems (Hours of my life, gone!) - This was from trying to cut noise from outside engineering works by altering my mic settings without giving it a proper test, sorry about that but I hope it isn't too bad for everyone (It's more present in the later sections of the video, due to recording this in 6 segments over this week!). Other than that, hope you all enjoy even If I get a little down near the end due to a few gameplay mistakes that annoy me more than they should, ultimately this was a very enjoyable and unique game! :D

Oh yeah, screw advanced AI starts. When I play a game I want everyone on the same playing field. Like in CIV when you up the difficulty the AI just gets so much starting bonuses its unfair. Its artificial difficulty. I wan't my enemies to be smarter harder, not busted harder, but not stupid that I always beat them. Thats why playing on the hardest difficulty in stellaris and the scaling difficulty I think works really well. It can be challenging but I don't ever feel as if it is too unfair.

Hey lath, the advance AI starts are complete bullshit and I agree with you, but you should make the normal empires go up to 11 instead of 9 (because basically you're missing on 2 empires when you turn off advance AI).
@____58376 жыл бұрын
Are you sure thats the way it works? I always assumed 9 empires with 2 advanced ai would still be 9 empires, just 2 of them are advanced starts
@____58376 жыл бұрын
The text at 5:48 appears to confirm that as well
@foreverbound76 жыл бұрын
Oh, that might be the case.. However it's still more fun to play with 11 empires.
@cookies23z6 жыл бұрын
ya I agree, I like having a few more empires in my games, but the advanced AI start just applies to one of the empires in the game, so 9 and 2 advanced will be 7 normal and 2 adv, where as 11 with 2 adv, will be 9 normal and 2 adv still.@@foreverbound7

If you could turn on the map mode that shows all of your vassals/federation members as your color, in your next playthrough, then that would be appreciated. It would have been useful in some of your past playthroughs too. It's a lot easier to know who's already yours, from a viewers standpoint, if they're all your color.

Wonder how well a machine mind, 1 planet, arcology and mega structure race would go. You'd get all your resources from mega structures, energy, minerals, science, fleet cap, unity. And the Ecumenopolis would let you churn out alloys like mad.
@hackysmack6 жыл бұрын
That "noooooo" that escaped me when you built the Ministry of Culture on a tile adjacent to the planetary capitol. Seriously, when you have only one planet, every bit of efficiency helps.
@Lathland6 жыл бұрын
True - But the planet had NO mineral, food or energy buildings by the end so It didn't really matter where it went as no buildings would have got that bonus - I mentioned quite early on that eventually the planet was going to be 100% Science and unity as It was the only planet available for this run and both science and unity are hard to come by (Especially unity!) from non-planet sauces. If I were using the planet for economy in any way then yeah that would have been a serious error haha! :P In fact, at the time of adding it there was only one energy and one food building (Both adjacent to the capitol, they were the last ones left BECAUSE they were adjacent!) which means it was either remove one of those or remove a science or unity tile which was just out of the question for the build. So that is VERY good advice but just doesn't really apply to this particular run since I was going so heavily into science and unity from the planet. :)
