I'm already working on Video 17, which is going to be a little different than previous ones. Until then though, feel free to tell me what you think about stellaris, or even tell me about some games you think I should check out Don't forget you can keep up with me on Twitter : twitter.com/TitusReviews

o rly. Well I'm working on playing Dyson Sphere Project and people on reddit suggested listening to the Stellaris soundtrack while playing. It's so immersive.

Great review! Stellaris is my personal favorite PDX game as it really checks all the boxes as a big sci-fi fan. Explore strange new worlds? check. Push the boundaries of science too far and cause an existential crisis? check. Go full Emperor Palpatine and declare a galactic empire? big check. And I really love how Stellaris makes all of these fit together in a natural, emergent story progression. I can understand how the setting doesn't spark your imagination as much as the real world settings of PDX's historical offerings, but, for me, it's actually the opposite where the random, unknown galaxy of a new Stellaris campaign fills me with much more wonder than the usual Eurocentric starts of most other PDX grand strategy games. Also, I want to shoutout the excellent Star Trek New Horizons mod which probably counts for at least half of my total playtime in the game. Again, great stuff and looking forward to the next video!
@TitusReviews3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, and yeah I'd love to see another PDX game that could break away from Eurocentrism, because while I'm not super into space, its very refreshing to get to see all the variety Stellaris brings to the table

I've watched a lot of tutorial/review videos on Stellaris, but this one took me from "interested" to "definitely must buy this!" Frankly, I haven't done a lot of 4x for quite a few years, which is the only reason this game hasn't been on my radar much sooner. Thanks for the review!

Great review. Made me start a new game! Stellaris got me into PDX games. The mechanics are straightforward and even with a basic understanding you can manage to have enjoyable games. I am still afraid of checking out the other games like EU4 or HOI. Although, I managed to get into Imperator Rome and I really like it now.. but in stark contrast to Stellaris, I:R took me ages to learn. *shrug* . My next PDX game will probably be VIC3. Stellaris and Imperator Rome are different enough to cover my grand strategy needs for a long time.
@TitusReviews3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, and I've been meaning to get into I:R, I just haven't had a good stretch of time to learn its mechanics. But I'm hoping to review it eventually

i think mods should be something to consider in reviews a lot more than people usually do, personally to me they are the whole reason i still play the game and not even including a section about them feels like not talking about the social aspect of world of warcraft or the storyline of hades, like it feels like a big chunk of the game's appeal is just missing. tbh there's quite a few dlcs that i wouldn't have bought if it wasn't because of mods, which i think is important because it not only shows paradox that mods are good for their business but it also shows how important they are to me. though maybe that's just me, i'm a huge modding fanatic in all games that have them so maybe other people just don't care about them.

I saw the game on sale and had never heard of massive strategy games. When I was young I loved spore and red alert 2 so it seemed like the perfect game for me. But I am really bad at buying games. This review made me buy the game with 3 DLCs, the utopia, machine and leviathan DLC's. Thank you for your in depth review

This game is one of my absolute favorites. I own every DLC, and I play it whenever I feel a lull in Destiny 2. I'm not saying buy every DLC, but they all add something interesting even if it's only a single playthrough thing (I'm looking at you nemesis, becoming the endgame crisis is only fun once or twice)

The game is interesting but not all that fun for me because I do not enjoy constant pop-ups (there may be a way to disable/diminish them) informing me of something happening. There is too much information bombarding me, too many things to manage, too many reports to read in the log. The game feels like work reading all that. I want to play a game, not read reams of words. If I wanted to do that I would read a book. The game is like trying to read a book with someone coming by flashing a poster in your face and yelling, "Contact has been made with someone on the sidewalk. Thunder was heard, a storm is coming. Your neighbor discovered an anomaly in your back yard." I am unable to play this game for very long before I quit, overwhelmed with too much stuff demanding attention. It is similar to Master of Orion III: "Maybe if I keep playing I will learn to play better and it will become fun." At least I got the game on discount, did not pay much money. Perhaps I do not have the brain for it but it is too much for me to focus on: Exploration, Colonization, Diplomacy, Planet Development, Ship Building, Space Combat, Research, System resource development, Pre-cursors, Archaeology Digs, and many other things in numerous interfaces with interfaces within those interfaces. I am overwhelmed by the complexity. This complexity makes the game complicated, tedious to play through numerous and convoluted menus and windows. I prefer simpler games. I am not bashing Stellaris; I think it is polished and professionally done, but for me it is not all that fun because I have to be very busy attending to things which feels like work, not leisure. Others enjoy being busy clicking through multiple interfaces choked with information and things to do but I do not. T
