Sorry to hear you were feeling ill Quill, and glad to see you're back. Typing this out part way through the vid, so apologies if you saw this later, but the Benevolent, Balanced, and Oppressive Vassalage policies only impact your initial vassal contract if you vassalise by war. If you offer vassalage diplomatically, you can negotiate whatever agreement seems best to you, even if you have Oppressive Policy enforced. You can also rengotiate war-vassal agreements after I think 10 years to ease the burden if you wat to.

You could also suppress one of the other factions, and embrace the egalitarians to throw one out. As a fanatic egalitarian you can then begin stealing revolting planets from your neighbors.

Looks like things are starting to ramp up -- may need to pick off one of your enemies before you find yourself in a two-front war. I wonder how much longer til one of the more hostile xenos force your hand into subjugating them.
