I came for the type 2 diabetes talk but it got interrupted. overall very nice summary by the doctor. my question is, how long might the benefits of stem cell therapy last in patient?

We don't treat type 2 diabetes so we really cannot answer that question.

How come Dr Riordan never mentions potential dementia (e.g. Alzheimer's) treatment using MSCs? It appears to be a no-go topic, even in his Panama clinic. Comments?

In his book, MSC, Dr. Riordan summarizes the current published literature for mesenchymal stem cell studies. Alzheimer's is not in his book so there isn't any published data on it, at least as of last year when the book was published.
