Curious about what happens to our cells as we age and how it affects our health? Shiri Gur-Cohen explores the role of tiny chemical tags on our DNA, like methylation, in influencing our healing and overall well-being. Gur-Cohen discusses how these tags might be shaped by our body's systems, such as the lymphatic system, and could even help repair or regenerate various parts of our body. Gur-Cohen proposes that uncovering these processes could lead to innovative ways to slow aging or boost our body’s natural healing capabilities. [10/2024] [Show ID: 39979]

Wonderful talk but the limitation is that you did not draw a conclusion so that we could see the connection to the question. The answer to that is this question: what keeps the lymphatic system healthy? I learned a long time ago that the lymphatic system does not have a pump like blood does with the heart . So what keeps it functioning ie pumping ! The answer to that is movement -- otherwise in this context called exercise. So if you ever wanted to know why exercise is important and keeps us healthy it is because it moves the lymph. And now we know, thanks to this talk that the lymph not only removes toxins and waste and carries nutrients to the cells, but helps to regenerate the cells and keep the stem cells young. So exercise provides the link to longevity via the lymphatic system. Well mostly we knew that about exercise but not why . And now we know why.... Thanks to your research and this great talk . Bonne chance with your research . More on this topic please as it is so critical .

What is the answer to the question from the title: “Can aging be reversed?” If so, are there therapies available that normal people can take now? For example, can a 60-year old man be reversed to 45-year old man?

Perhaps. Though we all have to die sometime which is something science can't fix. Is there some advantage to being a youthful-looking corpse rather than an old one?
