Elizabeth why you only have 6.87k subscribers and not 6.87m baffles me! Only came across your channel half an hour ago and subscribed immediately, I love your method of teaching, the results you get and all your advice.

Lucy, Im' trying like heck to figure that out too! LOL I wish I had better numbers, and I do try to create informative, easy to follow tutorials. I have been teaching art workshops for over 15 years and that helps me with the delivery of information. TELL YOUR FRIENDS! LOL thanks Lucy

New subbie to your channel, Elizabeth & I’ve been trying to understand the differences between stencils & masks. I appreciate you showing the differences! I bought a Geli Plate as a Christmas gift to myself (2021). Watching to learn “how to” use it. You use Golden acrylic paint, but I’ve only got deco art, alcohol inks, distress sprays, distress inks, I imagine they’ll all work (all the same). Love watching your tidbit videos, and can’t wait to try to replicate what you’re doing & play too! Thank you for sharing!

My pleasure! I’m sorry about the stencils not shipping to UK it’s the VAT tax and the paperwork involved, they don’t have the staff for it. :(

Donna, thank you about the stencils! I tried really hard to make some good, usable designs. You are so very welcome about the videos, I enjoy filming them... it's the EDITING that's so very slow going. :)

I wondered if you can help solve my dilemma please...I want to use the whole of a flower mask so I can get the complete image in the centre of my paper....and I want to use stencil butter with a pallette knife....how do you get perfect edges without the stencil butter getting on to the background....hmmmm....🤔....its not a problem when using a stencil especially if it has edge borders or one can mask off with low tack tape....I've been looking to solve this problem for ages now to no avail....🤞🤞🤞...Jane North Wales UK 😀....
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
I’m not quite sure. What is stencil butter? Molding paste? I guess you would have to be just very careful and spreading that you didn’t go be on the edges of the stencil
@Etenoha13 жыл бұрын
For what I have seen, there is no real difference between mask or stencil. They are used in the same way, the only difference is wich design one prefere to work with. First print will always reveal te pattern of the holes, the second the ink beneath the mask/stencil. Correct me if I,m wrong please
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
in a mask the image is created by the plastic, in a stencil the image is created by the openings in the plastic. that's the basic of it. you can use either of them any way you want but in some applications like scrubbing out a pattern in watercolor with a wet sponge, you need a stencil, because you are scrubbing through the openings in the stencil and the plastic is protecting the rest of the artwork, you can't do this successfully with a mask. So, it depends on your application. hope that helps.

Any suggestions for which glue sticks are the strongest for making stencils and masks with my glue gun. Are the solid color glue sticks different than clear?
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sue, I don’t use a glue gun, my stencils are commercially produced. 😊

Do you ever print with the paint the is left on the stencil or mask?
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes if you move QUICK but fluid acrylics are in a very thin layer and dry super fast so not much prints.
@janerochfort2134 Жыл бұрын
Am I being dense😮 do you only use masks on a gelli plate....I like to use inks and other mediums...😊

Personally I use them on the gel plate yes, you may use them however your heart desires!

I love your necklace/pendant. Can you tell me about it?
@ElizabethStHilaire4 жыл бұрын
Eve King I bought it in Petaluma California, the pendant is a piece of China that was broken in an earthquake. I don’t remember the name of the artist, but I also love it. Thank you!
