i did this gig in 1980..it was unbelievable marching in the front rank of the corps of drums towards horse guards..i'll never forget the comradeship and pride..andy seddon,ex-royal marines band

It is called "Sunset Retreat" and it is traditionally played to mark the end of the day. Renard801 is quite correct.

the wolesley helmets the RM wear are topped with a ball,a connection with the former royal marine artillery. the bands of the royal australian navy wore a royal marnies style uniform up untill the 50/s ,when they converted to navy "rig"....marty

@gotz777 I don't think so. I believe the bond between the general public and the military is very much stronger then it used to be primarily down to the hard work of General Sir Richard Dannat as CGS from 2006-2009

Awesome band. A great deal of work is put into this. But the best? maybe the second best. The band of his majesty the king of norways guard is better when it comes to marching. Much better.
