Thanks for the video. I bought several bags from you and finally inoculated them. Two of eight are ready for the break and shake. The isolated spores are colonizing faster than the other spore syringe.

I wasn't happy with the results of the first shoot of the next video. I decided to wait until the original bag has mushrooms growing and then re-shoot the fruiting tutorial with another bag and show the results from the first bag. it'll also end up as a combo video of how/when to harvest and preserve it.

When I eject my sports syringe into my own one grow bag, then do I put the bag in a dark warm spot at a temperature in between 70-75 Fahrenheit then wait for it to Colonize around 50%? At this stage of colonization do I need to keep a humidifier near the bag? Do I need to anything else, or do I just Inoculate the bag with my spore syringe and just let it colonize at the right temperature in a dark place out of direct sunlight? This is my first time ever growing mushrooms and I’m using it all in one grow bag it’s a grain and substrate. I just need to know what kind of environment or is there anything else I need to do during colonization if someone can help me please I appreciate it and thank you.

just inoculate and keep it at 70-75f. no need to add humidity yet.

Brother, i dont have a tent and im worried about climate control and light come the fruiting stage cause im trying to be low-key and also budget rn my grow bags are currently innoculating in the closet and i can clearly see mycelium beginning to grow. Any advice?

What if the bag gets covered with like 80-90% white but there's still small areas throughout that aren't covered and it looks like nothing's growing/spreading anymore?

You could break and shake a second time, it will eventually colonize that spot but it may take a while. I don't have an answer for why it happens but my hypothesis is that, during colonization mycelium "exhales" co2 and water vapor like mammals do, that water condenses on the bag and drips down the sides, as the substrate gets colonized there is less substrate exposed that can soak up the condensation, therefore the uncolonized substrate can become too saturated and that inhibits the mycelium.

I was of the understanding that your bag should not be mixed until your grain is colonized at about 90% Thoughts? Anyone in the comments? Im a noob so any advice would be appreciated. Currently have 2 bags going.

You can wait until that point, but it will just make the process take longer. 20% colonized grain is plenty to mix the bags and drastically reduce the time to harvest.

Should u ever break up the bag twice ? I have 2 bags i broke up about a week ago. Theyre doing well but i have some grain kind of clumped up in a spot and its super colonized in a few spots but spots of white all over both bags

@kevinhowe3280 Generally it shouldn't be necessary, but it's not really going to hurt anything. If the bag is colonizing unevenly after the first mix, you could do it one more time and that should be all it will need.
