In this video, Sean goes through how to connect your custom domain that you have registered with Namecheap to your System.io account. As Dana has gone over in another video ( • Problem Getting Your D... ) you want to make sure to not include the periods at the end of the entries when you are doing your copying.
Some other things to watch out for. The window that opens up in Systeme.io that gives you the DNS Settings should not just be copied as it is. See Below:
1. The first option that Systeme shows you for the first CNAME Record will look something like:
www.yourdomain.com as the "Host".
You DO NOT want to use "www.yourdomain.com" when you enter it into the Host field on Namecheap. Instead, you will just put "www" in the "Host" field on Namecheap.
2. When you copy the setting on the 2nd CNAME entry that Systeme displays you will only want to copy the first part of the Host name. It will look something like:
_895so44x3120d2c5b869d.yourdomain.com.
You only want to copy the first part and paste that into the 2nd CNAME Record you are creating on Namecheap. In the example above it would be "_895so44x3120d2c5b869d" without the quotes.
3. Namecheap has a quirk where you need to create a third CNAME record. At the time of this vide, the image in the directions on Systeme's documentation on how to do this is not correct. The image shows that you should be adding an ALIAS record. This IS NOT THE CASE. You DO NOT want to create an ALIAS record. It needs to be another CNAME record.
This third CNAME record that you create on NameCheap should have the Host be "@" without the quotes and then use the same target that is used for the first CNAME Record you created.
The video walks you through all of this. Hopefully, this will help get you asll squared away when adding your custom domain that you have registered at Namecheap all set up and configured on your Systeme.io account.
