Great tutorial and video again, hope your virus gets better soon. I don't know what part of the US you live, only lot of people have been asking about Red from the shine shack no one has heard anything from him since NC was devastated by that storm.

Thanks! It's fun to make this stuff!

Hey Randy! Loving the content. I just finished a controversial Bourbon myself. 5 parts corn and 2 parts blueberries and just a couple pounds of oats in the first fermentation only. The ingredients were sour mashed 3 times with the backset for 4 total generations with corn and blueberries added at the same ratios for the following generations and enough wash for 6 stripping runs. Oh man this stuff is out of this world.

Hi I see you using a refractometer, to check your proof as it is running out of the condenser, which brand do you use? or are they basically the same as long as they measure alcohol percent?
@stillworksandbrewing19 күн бұрын
you are right basically the same i will recalibrate once in a while i found to check abv in real time you will be surprised how well it works and yes ABV it will go from 0% to 80%

For you newbies.. He's saying, "yellow dent corn".. Not yellow dead corn.. 😁 And just to be pedantic.. Bourbon is no less than 51% corn as he said...but no more than 80%. A lot of folk look over that.
