@1:30 Out of curiosity, why need to indicate how much volume of urine collected? Does high or low volume implies health issues?

you failed on a very important issue how to store the urine in the large container during the 24 hour period, refrigerate or not !!

These test can't be important if they give you a small container to collect 24hrs worth of urine...its probally ok to just put the rest into a milk carton (?)

nope. smaller urine specimen jars are still important. they might have caught something in the smaller specimen jar which made them ask the patient to do 24h urine test (proteinuria maybe) the purpose of 24 hour urine specimen is to test for possibility of kidney issues. There’s things like creatinine clearance or filtration time that needs to be calculated based on total amount of urine produced over 24hours, or even hormones, minerals and compounds. Plus, some bottles may contain preservatives which is not present in said milk carton. (and also urine has uric acid which can breakdown the carton, leeching chemicals, or even contaminate with microorganisms) The purpose of the smaller specimen jar may be to test for the presence of different compounds, while the bigger specimen jar to calculate creatinine clearance or filtration rate using the total volume. Anyway, all hospitals differ in their procedures, i’m sharing based on what i had learnt in school!
