Zach, thank you for sharing your experience! All your video are very interesting and helpful. As an educated accountant who works in QBO I have to ask you one thing: PLEASE don’t say that knowing bookkeeping fundamentals is not necessary 😭 It is vital!!!! Learning how the software works will not be enough to become a good bookkeeper. I’m not saying going to college if you don’t pursue an accountant license but PLEASE ASK EVERYONE to take a 101 bookkeeping class. I cannot tell how many books I had to clean-up after QBO “pro advisors” who lacked bookkeeping knowledge. Thank you again! And please keep sharing your experience.

I have similar background as you my husband is an owner operator and I’m the dispatcher for 3 years now. I do all the bookkeeping for our business. I have bachelors degree in financial accounting and already have have my QB pro advisor certification and QB certification. My question is I want to target more owner operators for clients but do they actually hire bookkeepers since they already have so many other expenses for dispatching, factoring etc ?

I am an accountant, worked in Finance, and working on my CPA license, just need my required CPE credits after passing and getting experience verification . I recently quit my corporate job due to burnout and would like to start my own business. How easy is it to set up to start a bookkeeping experience without knowledge in Quickbooks at all? Also, can I both be a bookkeeper and accountant at the same time? Not expecting to earn as much as I did when I was in corporate but I need the flexibility of owning my own time and not working 50+ hour weeks.

I own several businesses and wouldn’t hire a bookkeeper with no experience. I wouldn’t hire someone who didn’t have a knowledge of business finance. You can’t fake your knowledge with someone who has knowledge and experience.
