You really shouldn't use the ball joint shank to press the unit back in. You should use a sleeve on the outside of the housing.

NOOO0000! this is the wrong way to install a ball joint.. It will not last because you put pressure on the shaft instead of the flat surface (or head) of the balljoint.. Correct way is to put pressure on the flat surface (or the head) when installing.. didn't even put grease when installing the boot.. tsk! tsk!f🤦‍♂
