Hello , I recently came across one of your videos, and I was wondering if your interested in giving me a quote to a timing chain job on my 2014 Audi q7 with the 3.0t engine thanks !

A woman posted on a VW owners Facebook page that she was quoted $5500 to replace her 2015 Beetle timing chain. Does it seem like they are taking advantage of her?

Hey great videos I’ve watched them all twice lol. Any updates on wiring and running videos? Interested on the shifter linkage, did u use the 2002 steering column? And what tcase , electric or manual shift ? I picked up a 2003, 7.3 with low miles to go in my 76 f250 and this is the best videos so far.

Great video... very detailed. I've watched several to prepare myself to replace front rotors and pads on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. You should have mentioned taking off the brake fluid reservoir cap and depending on the fluid level, withdrawing a little brake fluid out before compressing the brake pistons. Question: How often would you "replace" / bleed out brake fluid?... and what sequence do you follow when bleeding brake lines?

Sorry i was referring to the intake and exhaust camshaft.... Turning the engine they both rotate at the same time and again both facing the front of the engine when the TDO is reached .....

Great video... I have the same engine on a VW Passat 2008 2.0T.. FSI.... cylinder compression, cold engine 60 90 80 70..... On TDC, both notches where the adjustment tool goes are facing the front of the car. Meaning facing the same direction... Any thoughts.....

how is the starter clearance? did you have to modify the frame for the starter to fit? that a late 77? doesn’t look like the “highboy” front frame horn/leaf spring hangers. love that green!
@willpoweredgarage96925 күн бұрын
No issues at all with the starter. I used many of the parts from the donor truck frame and grafted them into it. The front frame and hangers were modified previously from someone else. Thanks for checking it out.

1:01:30 I am having issues with my intake manifold seating in its place. It won’t sit all the way down and there’s nothing hindering it or in the way. The injectors just won’t go into their spots. Any advice?
@willpoweredgarage969Ай бұрын
Hopefully the injectors are still in the cylinder head itself. I will usually apply some sort of lubricant to the injector o-ring where it goes in the fuel rail. Vaseline works in a pinch. just make sure they are going in straight, can sometimes wiggle the injector a bit to get it in. The other thing I would check is that you installed the air dividers in the intake ports the right way and they are flush with the gasket surface. Hope this helps, Let me know how you make out, and thanks for watching.

Why would speed up on of the most important parts?? SETTING THE CRANK TDC?? You dont even SHOW how it comes off!!! No… you’re video is NOT a good instruction so far because step by step means… STEP BY STEP! Not speeding passed details you just talked about to save time. Now i have to go find yet another 1.8tsi video for my car somewhere… because you dont show where the bolt was take out with the crank tool, a gun, or a breaker bar… i have no idea no thanks for nothing!

hey brotha, thanks for the video. i did everything in this video and my car is running beautifully except for a whine noise that wasn’t there before the job. the car drives great, but the whine is coming from the cam chain area. is it possible to be off a link and have the tensioner too tight?
@brianbeeks9890Ай бұрын
i don’t have any codes, all my timing marks lined up but i thought that the tensioner operated off oil pressure?
@willpoweredgarage969Ай бұрын
I would not expect that from the chain. Check the vac pump, for air leaks maybe? Thanks for watching.
@willpoweredgarage969Ай бұрын
Yes, It is controlled by oil pressure.

My 2010 has 170k miles on it and needs this done. Its a good truck. Rusting a bit but if i get this done should i get a new oil pump and how much more would that cost?
@willpoweredgarage969Ай бұрын
IF you are to do it and have higher mileage I would suggest a new oil pump, but keep in mind that the oil pan will need to come off to replace the oil pump pickup tube. Thanks for watching.

@gonzalogonzalez749Ай бұрын
When my Q5 reaches temperature it shows low pressure and I accelerate and it goes off, it comes to a stop and the oil pressure goes back down.
@willpoweredgarage969Ай бұрын
Sounds like you may have an oil pressure issue. I would connect a mechanical gauge when cold, warm up the engine and see what the pressure is at hot idle. Thanks for watching

Great job, thanks for sharing. Im working on my A6 that had bending valvs on the right side of the engine (passenger side), i changed the cylinder head and now im having issue that when i put the cam adjusters back and and tighten them then i take the cam holder tools off and crank chaft tool of, just when i start to rotate the engine i hear click and it’s look like the camshaft is slipping and the engine doesn’t rotate anymore. I will really appreciate it if u could just tell me what it can be. Thanks in advance.
@willpoweredgarage969Ай бұрын
Are you rotating the crankshaft the correct direction. The tensioners are designed to only take of the slack with normal rotation. If not it will slip and take it out of time. Hope this helps.
@MazoonVАй бұрын
@ thanks for the reply. Yes im rotating to the correct direction, after many days of trying to figure out what the problem, i decided yesterday to pull the engine out and check all the timing chains and tensioners, probably there something broken or worn out back there. I bought the car with that problem that the engine is not running and had and upper tension broken and the right side valvs are bent, i bought a used cylinder head with valvs and cams and replaced and now having this issue where in some point i can’t rotate the engine anymore. If i take the right side chain and cams off then the engine will rotate normally without any issues. It’s my first time to have this kind of problem, especially with this kind of engine, but anyway im working on taking the engine out and see. I will update the status after im done with it, in case if someone has same issue. Thanks a lot for the reply and have a great one.🙏

Ok on mine the code is p1630 short to positive, is that an injector or something else?
@willpoweredgarage969Ай бұрын
A p1630 is a throttle pedal code. I would get a scan tool that gives you live data and check that it is reading correctly. Can also try and set basic settings if you have a vag type scanner like the one from Ross tech. Thanks for watching.

I also have a hard to start, after sitting for a day or two unless I spray some starting fluid in air intake tubing, it used to start if I cycled the key about six or so times and it would start. Is this caused by injectors?
@ralphbaker9666Ай бұрын
Is this caused by the injectors?
@willpoweredgarage969Ай бұрын
Should check the output of your fuel pump. Could be causing the hard start as well.

Just out of curiosity were there actually any bent valves when they are on the table they look straight. My tensioner and chain busted I did a compression test on all cylinders and they passed but worried there still could be other damage
@willpoweredgarage969Ай бұрын
Yes, There were bent valves. I have taken apart so many VW and Audi turbo engines. I have never seen one that did not bend at least one valve after a failure. I would often take the valve out, and chuck it in a drill so I can spin it. Its an easy way to see if its bent. Even a slight bend will not seat correctly and will burn the valve seat up very fast if not replaced. Thanks for watching, and good luck.
